Safe & Welcoming Environment
Bonanza Elementary promotes a welcoming environment for students and families by providing bilingual interpreters for communication at meetings and parent/teacher conferences. We also have begun focusing our efforts on providing student leaders with leadership curriculum that gives them strategies and tools to reach out to other students to ensure everyone feels welcome and accepted in our school community. About Our School
BULLYING, HARASSMENT, AND SAFETY POLICIES
To ensure a safe and secure learning environment for all of our students, our school teaches social-emotional skills and bully prevention lessons to help students and staff recognize bullying and harassment and provide strategies for intervention. We have a full-time Counselor on staff who meets with groups of students on a case by case basis to address conflicts between students and to provide strategies for dealing with conflict and harassment. We conduct monthly safety drills and have access to a school resource officer. Our school has worked extensively on the development of an Emergency Operation Plan which outlines our preparedness plans for all emergency situations.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
All extra curricular activities are currently provided by outside agencies like the YMCA, Basin United Soccer Club, Little League, Girls/Boys Scouts, and local churches. Our school works to collaborate with these valuable community partners to provide space for these programs to meet with students.
PARENT ENGAGEMENT
Our school strives to engage all of our parents by holding yearly events like Play 2 Learn nights and family Literacy night where parents are welcome to attend. We also have an active Booster Club that meets monthly with administration to help plan events and offer support and problem solve areas of concern. All parents are welcome and invited to be a part of the Booster Club.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Our school engages our parents and community by hosting a variety of events intended for parents and community members to attend:

As the hub of the community, Bonanza Jr/Sr High School strives to have an open door policy inviting parent and community support for our students. While maintaining a positive relationship, our main goal remains focused on student safety. Monthly safety drills are completed, as well as community outreach for support in the event of a crisis. Bilingual staff is present in both buildings to assist in communication with all parents. We are instituting the incident command emergency system with staff.

About Our School
ADVANCED COURSEWORK
A partnership with Klamath Community College and OIT allows us to provide college level courses in the following areas:
· Advanced Animal Science, Speech 111 , Writing 121-122, Psychology, Math 111, Horticulture, Business Management, Intro to Teaching, Child Development, Plant Science. We have expanded this year with tow dual credit science classes Biology and Environmental Science.
Synchronis courses are offered throughout the district for Health Occupation courses and provides direct instruction from a classroom teacher. Various online courses are offered throughout the school year. Work study programs and advanced core classes are offered within the building to provide students with a broad academic experience.
CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION
Our school strives to provide broad access to Career and Technical Education for our students. As a rural community school, we value the resources provided to our students in the CTE classrooms with a focus on construction, agriculture and business. Courses provided for the school year in the area of Career and Technical Education, include: CORE intro to Construction, Carpentry 1, Carpentry 2, Ag Mechanics I-IV, Agriculture I-IV, Intro to Business, Marketing I/II, Computer Education, Digital Photography, as well as, FFA and FBLA club membership opportunities.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Students attending Bonanza Jr./Sr. High School have access to a wide variety of extracurricular activities throughout the school year. Emphasis is made on equality for both male/female athletes with varying interests.

They work with the administration to assist with concerns and offer suggestions for school-wide improvement. Along with our CTE Agriculture/FFA program, we have an Ag Advisory committee to support our efforts with that program.
