Bon Appétit has long been the role model for responsible sourcing in the food service industry, with initiatives that support The Getty’s sustainability values. As a company, we believe we can deliver fantastic food and wonderful service while also helping make our food system better. Our history and practice of “food service for a sustainable future” has included many efforts such as a groundbreaking Farm to Fork local sourcing program, a Low Carbon Lifestyle program focused on reducing food’s climate change impact, and numerous socially and environmentally responsible sourcing practices.
On The Getty’s catering menus, you’ll find locally sourced, seasonal produce, sustainable seafood, many humanely produced animal products, and a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian options. Our on-site chefs create special updates to the menu each season to ensure the bounty of the Los Angeles area’s regional foods are always on offer.

Ordering Process
To submit a new catering order, please fill out the Catering Order Form found on Getty GO. Your request will automatically be forwarded to the catering inbox (bonAppétit @getty.edu).
Paying for your Order
Please make sure you have set up your CaterTrax account with an up-to-date P-Card listed in the Online Wallet Section.
If you have any questions regarding your CaterTrax account, please contact the catering office.
SERVICE OPTIONS
To Go Orders
To Go orders must be submitted at least (3) full business days prior to your pick-up date and items must be chosen from the To Go menu. All To Go orders will be packaged in disposable containers. You can choose to pick up your To Go order from the Villa Coffee Cart, Courtyard Coffee Cart, Grove Coffee Cart, or the L2 Catering Kitchen. To Go orders must be picked up within 15 minutes of your desired pick-up time. For same requests please call the Catering Office directly at x6213.
Drop Orders
Catering staff will deliver your order, set it up with catering equipment and then return at the designated time to breakdown. If you would like to have staff present during your event, please refer to the Full Service option below.
Drop orders must be submitted and finalized (5) full business days prior to your event date and must meet a $250.00 minimum (excluding tax), or a $50 fee will be applied.
Full Service Catering
Catering staff will deliver your order to a specified location, set it up with catering equipment and remain at the event location for the duration of the event.
Full Service catering orders must be submitted and finalized (5) full business days prior to your event. You do not need to meet the $250.00 minimum if you are paying for labor.

LABOR AND MINIMUMS
Labor
There is a 4-hour minimum for Labor. Labor is charged on the hour, not a portion thereof. For catering requests with (25) or more guests, a Catering Manager will recommend the appropriate staffing. Depending on the size and scope of your order, occasionally staffing will be recommended for events with less than (25) guests.
Typically, staff hours include 2-3 hours for set-up, the duration of the event and 1-hour for breakdown. Staff hours can vary depending on event location, set up needs, and guest count. If you have any questions regarding this, please feel free to reach out to your assigned Catering Manager.
After-Hours Labor
If an event ends at 5:00pm or later, an after-hours labor fee of $50 will be added to your ECO. If you have already paid labor for Full Service catering the after-hours labor fee will not be applied.
Set-Up Fee
Orders that do require staff and do not meet the $250 order minimum can be executed as a regular Drop Order for an additional $50 minimum order fee.
Requested drops at the Trustee House, South Building, or NEP will require a $50 transportation delivery/pickup fee. This charge will be applied for every delivery as well as every pickup on events without staff.
Events in the Restaurant
Events that are held in the Restaurant at the Getty Center require staff to break down the normal table set-up and re-set it before service the next day. To account for this, a Restaurant Labor Surcharge will be added to your ECO: $125 for the entire Restaurant, $75 for half of the Restaurant.

DEADLINES
Order Cancellations
Please contact the catering office if you would like to cancel your event. Some fees may apply
For events under 100 people, ECOs must be cancelled at least (3) full business days prior to the event date. Orders cancelled with less than (3) full business days notice may be charged for any specialty product that was ordered or prepped for the event.
For events over 100 people, ECOs must be cancelled at least (5) full business days prior to the event date.
Orders cancelled with less than (5) full business days notice may be charged for any specialty product that was ordered or prepped for the event.
Late Fees
A $50.00 late fee will apply for orders placed less than (5) full business days in advance. For example, if your event is on a Friday, you have until 3:00 p.m. on the previous Friday to submit your request or final revision. Please note that while we will do our best to accommodate last minute requests, it is not always possible to guarantee availability of product and/or staff.
Revisions
All revisions to your catering order (including guest count changes), must be submitted a minimum of (5) full business days in advance. Any revisions submitted after this deadline will incur a $50.00 late fee.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE POLICIES
Please note custom requests based off items in the Catering Guide can be accommodated and may incur additional fees. Please contact the Bon Appétit catering office with any questions.
Alcohol Beverage Service
Getty Center and Getty Villa are licensed to serve alcoholic beverages at events. Based on requirements of the license, we must adhere to the following guidelines:
Only Bon Appétit bartenders who have been trained by the California Department of Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) may serve alcohol.
Food must be available for the guaranteed guest count for the entire duration of the event, and non- alcoholic bar beverage service must also be available ($2.50 per person).
Wine and beer will be billed on consumption, with Bon Appétit staff taking back any opened and unopened stock. Alcohol can never be removed from an event location, it is the property of Bon Appétit .
The storage of wine, beer, and spirits must be handled by Bon Appétit.
The Getty may not accept donations of alcoholic beverages.
Removing Unused Product
If food items remain on the buffet table at the end of the event, Getty staff may take it home. To go containers called clamshells are available and should be requested in advance. Clamshells are charged on consumption at $1.25 per piece. Catering staff is not allowed to pack food but to go.
Unused alcohol can never be removed after an event.
Seated Serve
For more formal occasions, seasonal Seated Serve are developed and available on request.
Seated Serve include a first course, entrée and dessert and are $55 per person.
Custom menus can be requested and a per-person price will be determined based on menu selection.
Offering a “choice of” entrée is an additional $15.00 per person.
Offering a “choice of” first course or dessert is an additional $10.00 per person.
A “silent” vegetarian option is always available on request to serve 10% of guests at every seated meal at no extra charge.
If you would like to choose your “silent” vegetarian option in advance and/or list it on your menu, this is considered a “choice of” entrée and is an additional $15 per person.
If you would like your vegetarian option to be vegan (contain no meat, eggs, or dairy), or if any of your guests have food allergies or other dietary restrictions, please let your Catering Manager know before the deadline listed on the ECO.
Berries are a popular “silent” dessert alternative for guests who decline the chosen dessert offering. If you would like to have berries available for your guests they must be requested in advance and are an additional $6 per person.
SERVICE WARE
China Service
In accordance with the Getty’s green initiative, china service (which includes glassware & flatware) is offered at no charge for up to (75) guests. Quantities are limited and assigned to events on a first- come, first-served basis, based on when requests are received. If china is requested and is not available, it can be rented on request at an additional cost, or disposables will be added to your order.
Disposables
If disposables are preferred, or if china service is not available, a $5.00 per person fee will be added to your order for a full set of compostable disposables. Single item disposables are charged at $1.25 per piece. Bon Appétit provides compostable product that meets the Getty’s green initiative standards, therefore providing your own disposables is not permitted.
Linens
Standard in-house linens are available for $5 per linen, and $1 per linen napkin. Standard colors are white, black, and ivory. Additional colors may be available but cannot be guaranteed. Specialty rental linens can also be rented and are available on request.
Please note, some banquet tables require (2) linens due to the size of the tables.

To Go orders will be packaged in disposable containers and you may pick up your order from one of the following locations: Villa Coffee Cart, Courtyard Coffee Cart, Grove Coffee Cart, or L2 Catering Kitchen. To Go orders must be picked up within 15 minutes of the pick-up time listed on the order.
