Individualised Programmmes

Aim of Scheme To create coaching opportunities for Black, Asian, Mixed Heritage Men and Female Coaches with potential to coach in Premier League/Category 1 Academies

To address the lack of Black, Asian, Mixed Heritage Men and Women players transitioning to coaching roles in the professional game

To identify high-potential Academy Coaches working fulltime in English Premier League or Category One Clubs and support them to achieve new skills and levels of expertise via an individualised development programme

To establish Club-led coach development in every professional Club via a focused, accelerated, and individualised development journey. EHOC is specifically tailored to support candidates in attaining new levels of expertise as Coach Developers

To identify talented Academy Coaches who work full-time in Category One to Three Clubs that may already be in coach support positions within their respective Clubs or have expressed aspirations of becoming a Head of Coach Development (HOCD) as part of their development action plan. FCD is specifically tailored to support coaches in attaining new levels of expertise as Coach Developers

To support each Academy Manager through a bespoke leadership development programme, specifically tailored for each individual based on their specific needs. The programme supports the development of their situational leadership skills to drive the strategic direction of the Academy, and to lead and develop their team

Academy Leaders is a Programme to support those in senior/MDT leadership and decision-making roles in Academies. For example, Assistant Academy Manager, Head of Operations, Head of Performance, Head of Education, etc.

The purpose of the Future Academy Leaders programme is to identify and prepare talented, identified individuals for Academy leadership roles in the future, with a specific aim of improving the diversity of leadership across the Academy system

The Premier League Futures programme is a 12-month leadership and personal development initiative that brings together a group of diverse, bright, and driven individuals from a range of Premier League clubs, with the aim of improving pathways for careers beyond playing and to maximise the players’ chances for success both on and off the pitch

The Football Leaders Programme aims to build on the already impressive pool of coaches and managers within the elite level of the English game and provide participants with a bespoke programme that enhances their strengths and individual needs. To prepare them for the current role and/or a future Management Role

To work with Clubs in supporting the pathway to develop and prepare home-grown coaches for future opportunities in the elite level of the professional game

To increase the diversity of the workforce consistently being appointed to work within the elite level of the professional game

To provide individualised development and support for coaches to effectively transition into the elite level of the professional game

development, and support Through specialised support, continuous professional development opportunities, and ongoing mentoring, HOCD acquire the knowledge, skills, and expertise needed to excel in their role. Includes individuals gaining an “EMCC” (Coaching and Mentoring qualification)

Optional PG Dip in Elite Coach Development after successful completion of portfolios across two seasons

An individualised development programme to amplify and accelerate the development of aspiring coach developers. Experiences and content will be tailored to the identified needs and wants, focusing on four main categories:

• Leading and Managing Self

• Planning and Initiating Coach Learning and Development

• Supporting and Sustaining Coach Learning and Development

• Evaluating and Reviewing Coach Learning and Development

Includes individuals gaining an “EMCC” (Coaching and Mentoring qualification)

An individualised leadership development programme including mentoring for each Academy Manager

Candidates complete a portfolio throughout the season which leads to a PGDip in Football Academy Management, with options to complete a Master’s degree, accredited by the University of Portsmouth

A leadership development programme that focuses on supporting those in senior Academy roles. The programme provides support and learning in three key areas: leading self, leading others and leading the Academy

Candidates complete a portfolio throughout the season which leads to a PGCert (year 1) and a PGDip (year 2) in Football Academy Management, accredited by the University of Portsmouth

A leadership development programme that focuses on individuals with the desire and potential to progress to an Academy Leadership role in the future. The programme provides support and learning in three key areas: leading self, leading others and leading the Academy

Candidates complete a portfolio throughout the season which leads to a Premier League Certificate

The programme provides bespoke and practical support, knowledge, and guidance tailored to suit the individual and the demands of the modern football industry

Candidates will complete a portfolio throughout the next 12 months

Upon completion of the programme candidates will have a graduation where they will receive a digital achievement record and become Future Leaders Alumni
