Political business is on fire and Palm Springs/Monterey National Sales Manager, Sandie Ware, continues to turn up the heat! Our San Diego market has been working with Ken Grody Ford in San Diego for 7 years. Together with Mariangela (Cookie) Contacessi and Gabriela Moseman, he has worked hard in maintaining the business on both digital and broadcast. For the last four months, they’ve been working on a plan to help KG Ford grow their business: our team recognized that there was an opportunity for them to grow in key new digital ad formats before their competitors in the market! The result was an annual campaign worth over $750k, beginning in Q2. This single deal is by far the largest TIER 3 auto deal local digital has closed thus far!

This is a prime example of sales teamwork, tenacity, client nurturing, and actively working to educate our advertisers on emerging opportunities!

SUCCESS STORIES EASTERN REGION Route 66 Casino was on Albuquerque’s Zero Share Target list for TV. Jeremy Olguin, the IMSC on this account, convinced Route 66 to run some radio back in 2017. Nothing consistent, just a buy here and there. Jeremy was persistent in going back often to the client with ideas and opportunities. Earlier in the year he presented the opportunity that Hispanics represent to casinos and how Route 66 Casino was losing share of this segment of the market to Isleta Casino & Resort, a consistent advertiser on Univision.

After that meeting, Route 66 began to buy Tricolor consistently - month after month. In the first half of the year, Route 66 Casino represent a plus +129% with a June buy coming in next week pushing this account to a +167% versus 2017.

Not only did they increase their spend on radio, but Route 66 Casino is now one of Albuquerque’s newest TV advertisers!

On May 5th, Entravision New Mexico participated as a sponsor and MC’d the Cinco de Mayo celebration in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The event was filled with live Mexican entertainment from Mariachi groups, cumbia bands, and Miss New Mexico Latina contestants. Families enjoyed Mexican food, Mexican arts and crafts and much more. This was the first time the event was held in Santa Fe, and it successfully brought over 700 attendees.

On May 4th, Entravision El Paso held their Cinco de Mayo event, “Mariachi Loco” in San Jacinto Plaza. The event drew 20,000 attendees and was a huge success due to the team effort from the staff at Entravision El Paso. Check out the video recap below!

TAMPA BAY On May 9th, Entravision Tampa Bay’s Jennifer Flores participated in a job fair at EpiCenter at St. Petersburg College. Thank you Jennifer for representing Entravision!

In Mexico and other Latin American countries, Mother’s Day is celebrated on May 10th. Angel Covarrubias, McAllen’s News Director, brought Mariachi Maravilla de San Juan to the studios to celebrate. This Mariachi group is made up of students from the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo High School (PSJA HS). The students were both excited and proud to play for moms and viewers watching in McAllen, Laredo and Corpus Christi.

Entravision Sacramento’s La Tricolor and La Suavecita held two back to back weekend events in May. On Sunday May 6th at the Roseville Fairgrounds, was the Cinco de Mayo festival. There was live music, DJ’s, and lots of dancing!

On Sunday May 13th, Sacramento’s La Tricolor and La Suavecita were the presenting sponsors of Sunday’s Mother’s Day Hispanic Entertainment at the Dixon May Fair. The Western Fair Association has recognized Sacramento’s La Tricolor and La Suavecita market as the “best in show” for their work in Dixon.

Sacramento’s Kimmy K from 101.9 The Wolf, Freeze from Hot 103.5 and Maceton from La Tricolor held live broadcasts from Disneyland for Disney’s Pixar Fest and Paint the Night Electrical Parade.

DAZZLES WASHINGTON At this year’s 29th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, Entravision Washington’s Perspectiva Nacional won Outstanding TV Journalism (Spanish-Language Segment) for their story “Comunidad LGBTQ vulnerable bajo nuevo gobierno” beating out CNN en Español, Univision and Telemundo. Congratulations on this accomplishment!

SUPPORTS SACRAMENTO On April 20th, Entravision Sacramento’s SVP, Angie Balderas, was invited to be the Key Note Speaker at the Merced County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (MCHCC) Scholarship Awards dinner. The five scholarship students are chosen based on various factor including academic achievement, need, and educational goals.

ALBUQUERQUE Entravision New Mexico was one of the major sponsors for this year’s Feria de Salud 2018 “A day of free healthcare” organized by the New Mexico Hispanic Medical Association. On April 21st, the community was invited to receive free medical assistance, doctor consultations, dentist services, flu shots, mammograms and many other valuable medical services. Entravision New Mexico arranged local performers to entertain the audience such as Sol de La Noche, La Fuerza del Valle, Mariachi Herencia from Atrisco High School, Ballet Folclórico Santa Fe & Paya Show. The event was a total success with over 1,200 attendees!

SUPPORTS On May 23rd, Entravision New Mexico participated as a sponsor for the 5th Annual Fiesta Para Bebès 2018, an event put together for the community by the Santa Fe Community Foundation Santa Fe Baby Fund. The event brings together non-profit organizations that support childhood development when it comes to health, education, arts and much more. This is an event that keeps growing every year thanks to the help that Entravision New Mexico provides by inviting the community through our TV, Radio & Digital platforms.

This year there were over 300 attendees, the majority of which were Hispanics that heard about the event through Entravision’s outreach efforts.
