My fondest high school memory was the first day of band camp my freshman year and getting to spend an entire month with my family in Illinois during summer break. My favorite local spot in Oceanside is Oceanrainbow Ice Cream Shop. I want to start by thanking my parents for the countless blessings they’ve given me throughout my life. Your love, companionship, and constant presence at every game, competition, and concert have meant everything to me. You’ve been my biggest supporters, and I couldn’t have made it this far without your encouragement and belief in me. I’m so grateful for all the sacrifices you’ve made and always being there to celebrate my successes or lift me up during challenges. To my private music teacher, Robert Resto, you’ve always been more than just a music teacher to me—you’ve been a guiding light since I was a little kid, helping me grow not only as a musician but also as a person. The lessons, stories, life experiences, and testimonies you’ve shared with me, both musically and personally, have helped me grow in my faith spiritually and are things I’ll carry with me forever. You’ve always pushed me to be better, showing deep compassion and understanding, while offering me countless opportunities to showcase and continue developing my talents—whether by inviting me to join another one of your bands or signing me up for yet another recital! You’re someone I’ve come to see as a second father, and for that, I’m truly grateful. And to Mr. James, I can’t thank you enough for being the best band director I could have asked for. I’ll never forget my first day of band camp as a freshman, when I was an out-of-district student and didn’t know a single name. You welcomed me so graciously and treated me with such kindness that I instantly felt like I belonged. The pureness of your heart and character was the very first thing I encountered at my new school, and that made all the difference. Over the years, your endless patience, kindness, and unwavering support have shaped my high school experience in the most positive way. Whether it was during a tough rehearsal, a challenging season in my life, or an exciting performance, your encouragement has always reminded me why I love music.
