About
Founded in 2023, THE MOVE was born from the strategic synergy of two visionary partners: Pyae Thiri, an Interior Design Expert, and Kaung Khant, a Registered Architect (RA) of the Myanmar Architect Council (MAC).Leading our creative vision, Pyae Thiri brings a rich academic foundation, holding a Professional Diploma in Interior Design from Alison, Lee Brown, and Novatek. What began as a dedicated two-person partnership has rapidly evolved under her leadership into a dynamic, Mandalay-based firm. Today, our team has grown to include two Architects and three Interior Designers, allowing us to scale our impact while maintaining the boutique precision our clients value.
We are design experts specializing in Strategic Space Planning and Conceptual Innovation. As modern designers, we bridge the gap between creative storytelling and technical precision. Our strength lies in transforming complex spatial challenges into high-end, minimalist realities. Whether we are maximizing commercial visibility for a landmark brand or crafting a serene residential sanctuary, we are here to design your next chapter.

KLG Residence
Location
Project Area
1,170 sqft
Project Type Mandalay, Myanmar
Architecture
Project Description
The KLG Residence is more than just a house; it’s a gift of comfort designed for a client’s beloved aunts in Mandalay. We wanted to build a place that feels grand and timeless, like a classical home, but most importantly, a place where the elderly can move around safely and easily. We kept the floors flat and avoided unnecessary stairs so that every room is reachable without effort.

Outside, we preserved the beautiful, old mango trees to keep the air fresh and cool. The large front porch is the heart of the home—a perfect spot for the aunts to sit, relax, and enjoy the evening breeze in the shade. It’s a simple, open, and elegant home where every detail was chosen to make daily life peaceful and worry-free.
The Architecture of Care:
The challenge was to blend the timeless beauty of Classical Aesthetics with a design that is effortlessly accessible. We looked at the site— firm ground and lush greenery—and decided to let nature lead the way.avoided unnecessary stairs so that every room is reachable without effort.

Most people think interior design is about adding more. But for the UWL Resident, we did the exact opposite—we mastered the art of taking away.
Our clients, a wonderful senior couple, had one simple but powerful request: “We want a home that breathes. No clutter, no loud patterns—just peace.” They needed a space where every square inch had a purpose, and every corner felt like a sanctuary.
The Journey from a Bedroom to a Rooftop: It all started with a single request to redesign a bedroom. But at ‘The Move’, we don’t just look at the walls; we look at the life lived within them. As we began solving hidden structural errors and smoothing out the “flow” of the room, the clients saw something rare—a team that cared as much about the function as the fashion.
That trust transformed a small bedroom project into a complete home overhaul. We didn’t just stop at the interiors; we climbed to the top to create a sophisticated rooftop retreat—a place for them to watch the Mandalay sunset by the pool, surrounded by organized, breezy zones for dining and relaxation.

The UVS Bungalow is a home built for the best of both worlds. We designed the living room to be the ultimate “Chill Zone”—a stylish place to share a bottle of wine and good stories with family and friends. But when the day is done, the bedroom becomes a private “Relax Sanctuary” where the world outside disappears. The real magic happens in the bathroom. Imagine soaking in a jacuzzi while looking up through a glass roof at the trees above, watching the sunlight dance on the water. It’s like having a private spa that uses nature to wash away a tiring day. Every detail, from the Japanese-style shower to the warm textures, was chosen to make sure this home doesn’t just look beautiful—it feels like a warm embrace every time you walk through the door.

Mandalay Mahar Akarit
Location
Yangon, Myanmar
Project Description
Project Area
4,840 sqft
Project Type
Architecture
Located on Mandalay’s bustling 62nd Street, the Mahar Akarit project was a unique architectural challenge: a single-story commercial space sandwiched between towering three-story neighbors. To prevent the brand from being “swallowed” by its surroundings, The Move engineered a high-impact, Modern Minimalist facade that uses bold verticality to create an illusion of height and dominance. By seamlessly integrating the brand’s signature logo colors into the material palette, we transformed a modest structure into a standout urban landmark—proving that through strategic design, a single story can command more attention than its taller rivals.

Moe Kaung Gold Shop
Location
Mandalay, Myanmar
Project Area
1,276 sqft
Project Type
Interior Design

When we designed the Moe Kaung Gold Shop, we didn’t just want to build a store—we wanted to create a feeling of pure elegance. Gold isn’t just a metal; it’s soft, glowing, and timeless. That’s why you’ll see beautiful, flowing golden waves across the ceiling instead of hard, square corners. The owner gave us the freedom to dream big, so we imagined the ceiling as “liquid gold” flowing through the space. These soft curves make the shop feel welcoming and incredibly unique. It’s a place where the design is just as precious as the jewelry on display, making every visit feel like a truly high-end experience.

Universe 51 Japanese Restaurant

Architecture & Interior Design

Imagine driving through a busy three-way junction and finding your eyes immediately drawn to a building that stands out with effortless grace. That is Universe 51—not just a restaurant, but a landmark designed to be noticed. A Striking Presence from Every Angle. Designing a single-story building at a prominent intersection presented a unique challenge.

How do we make it stand out?
Our solution was the “Layer Design Concept.” By creating a facade with beautifully stacked architectural layers, we ensured the restaurant catches the eye from every direction. Beyond the aesthetics, these layers symbolize our wish for the client’s business—to grow and reach new heights, step by step.
The Perfect Blend of Minimalist Luxury
Step inside, and the outside world fades away. Located in the prestigious Golden Valley neighborhood, the interior was crafted for those who appreciate the finer things in life. We embraced a “Minimalism & Luxury” style—keeping things clean and uncluttered while using premium textures and warm lighting to create a high-class, sophisticated atmosphere. It is the perfect spot for a quiet dinner or a professional meeting.
An Authentic Japanese Soul
We believe in working with what we have. While we kept the original structure of the building mostly intact, we transformed the soul of the space. Through a careful selection of natural materials, traditional color palettes, and a thoughtful layout, we’ve brought an authentic Japanese Vibe to life. Every corner is designed to make you feel as though you’ve stepped into a modern sanctuary in the heart of Japan.
“At Universe 51, we didn’t just design a space; we created an experience where tradition meets modern elegance.
