The Methodology Behind Accurate Benchmarking

Big Data, Smarter Insights

Bnchmrk leverages advanced technology and proprietary tools for data-driven benefits benchmarking. Unlike traditional methods with limited datasets, Bnchmrk enables licensed users to instantly analyze extensive plan data, uncovering patterns, trends, and insights often missed by smaller datasets.

Real-Time Plan Data

Accurate plan data is essential for quality analytics. Bnchmrk’s broad network of benefit consultants and employers supplies real-time data via our National Data Survey. Validated imports from the web or account systems integrate seamlessly into our proprietary dataset, ensuring trusted reporting.

Strict Data Validation

Reliable benchmarking requires a trusted dataset.

Bnchmrk’s multi-stage validation ensures employer and plan records meet the highest standards. Dynamic form rules provide instant feedback, accepting only data that passes strict quality checks—delivering accurate metrics and actionable insights.

Actionable Benchmarking

With access to a robust, independently validated dataset, users can make objective, data-driven decisions about their benefit plans. Bnchmrk’s approach combines a trusted database with tools to define specific cohorts, enabling employers to benchmark their offerings, identify gaps, and align strategies with organizational goals and competitive demands.

1 Introduction A Guide to the Report Analytics

Your Cohort is built on rich employer data, providing insights through highlighted benefits, benchmark tables, and graphs to identify gaps and drive improvements. Benefits reviewed in the report are introduced with a title page overview. Macro data for the benefit is confirmed including the proportion of your Cohort utilizing certain benefit features.

Benchmark Tables

Benchmark Tables summarize key analytics by grouping related data points for clarity. Each table organizes data points in rows, with columns showing Low, Median, and High benchmarks for your Cohort.

When an employer’s plan is added for comparison, additional columns appear:

• Your Plan: Displays the employer's plan value for each data point.

• Your Ranking: Shows the percentile ranking of the plan within your Cohort.

7% of plans are integrated with Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs).

Distribution Graphs

Percentile Graphs provide a clear visual representation of how a plan compares within a selected cohort. By mapping data along a percentile scale, these graphs help identify where a plan falls relative to benchmarks, offering a quick and intuitive way to assess competitiveness.

These graphs organize plan data from least to most competitive within your cohort, providing a clear view of industry benchmarks.

Key features include:

• Percentile Markers: Benchmarks for the 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles represent noncompetitive (low), expected (median), and competitive (high) values.

• Your Plan: Displays the employer's plan value for each data point.
