each year that ensure electrical professionals are able to do their jobs more efficiently and effectively.
EC&M established the Product of the Year Competition in 2001 to recognize excellence in new product development in the electrical industry. More than two decades later, this prominent awards program continues to showcase the most innovative products of the past year, recognizing the talent and commitment of those involved with all aspects of development. EC&M is honored to bestow these awards on inventive products
Products eligible for this year’s contest were those introduced to the market between Jan. 1, 2024 and Dec. 31, 2024. Out of the 122 product entries received, a panel of industry expert judges narrowed down the field as part of phase one of the competition. Ranking each product based on a uniform list of scoring criteria, the group ranked each entry, ultimately identifying 36 category winners based on innovation and the ability to save end-users time and enhance productivity.
These 36 finalists will now compete for the 2025 Platinum, Gold, and Silver awards, which will be determined by EC&M subscribers in an online voting process administered on the EC&M website (www.ecmweb.com) beginning May 16. You can also find accompanying photos and product descriptions of all 122 entries in the pages of this special supplement.

LIGHTING PANEL
The Metalux multi-mount selectable (MMS) panel features a backlit design, which delivers a fully luminous lens to enhance any facility. It offers a selectable mounting feature of surface, recessed, and suspended mounting options. When a recessed luminaire is needed, the shallow 1.5-in. total height allows it to sit below the top of the T-grid, disappearing into the plenum. Five sizes are offered for design flexibility, ranging from a slot-like 4-ft × 6-in. model to a commercial 2-ft × 4-ft troffer size. The panel comes with five selectable CCTs in the smaller decorative form factors and three selectable CCTs in the larger commercial form factors — all in standard 90 CRI superior color quality.
