The National Junior Honor Society is one of the first stepping stones to becoming a remarkable leader and citizen in my community. I have had many opportunities throughout my life to participate in my community, be it through my church, swim team , or other groups. But I truly believe that I am not a perfect citizen. I have many lengths to strive for to become the person I would like to be. NJHS will help me on my path to becoming a leader by giving me opportunities to work with people who see the world the way I do. Who see the world as full of opportunity, most of it untapped. Full of people that struggle for food, or are being crushed with work. I would like to change this , and NJHS will help me achieve my vision. Luckily, the NJHS is full of hard working and smart people that I feel like being around would help me improve myself, but more importantly, to improve others. NJHS will give more opportunities to help serve my...show more content...
All this and more will help me reach my goal of one day being able to relate to a wide variety people, being able to work with and guide anyone, and everyone, through relationships developed between a leader and his followers. I wish to be that leader that makes a change in the world to help relieve the pressure that people around the world feel every day, the pressure to work with people that they hate, that they despise, by eliminating that distaste. Unfortunately, certain people will always dislike others, but people can change. I will be the one to help make that change in people. This journey will all start with NJHS. by first working to bring together this small group of people, to work to improve the community with them and to lead them. Not many other programs can say that they can really achieve this. But NJHS can. We, as people working united to better our community, and ourselves, can achieve this. I simply ask, that you give me the

NJHS Essay
It is truly an honor to be recognized by National Junior Honor Society. I realize it will take so much more than fantastic grades to be a part of NJHS. It will require tremendous commitment, determination, and a significant amount of time. I honestly believe that an NJHS member should always feel the need to always help others. The volunteer spirit should not only be shown in the community, but at home, church, and inschool. The five pillars of scholarship are: service, leadership, scholarship, character, and citizenship. Service is an action of helping or doing work for another person. I have been volunteering at the Moravian church in Nazareth. Myself and the other volunteers prepare sandwiches and other snacks. We work to serve the lunches to the underprivileged families. I've also volunteered at the Nazareth Area Food Bank. When the food bank receives food, the volunteers...show more content...
Last year I made it on High Honor Roll all three trimesters. Academic achievement comes easy for some. For others, like me, it requires hard work, effort, and a tremendous amount of time studying. Character is defined as one's moral qualities. I have very high expectations for my character, and I hold myself to them. Every time a person isn't the nicest to me or someone else, I remind myself not to stoop to their level. I tell myself, "Treat others how you would want to be treated." I will always treat myself and everyone around me with respect, courtesy, and kindness.
I am a great citizen in many ways. I am active in my community and I offer my assistance when needed. I am an honest and trustworthy citizen. I follow all of the rule and laws, and take responsibility for my actions. All in all, NJHS will be a great opportunity and if I am accepted I will do my best to serve my community, lead my classmates, strive for the highest possible academic achievement, and model what it truly means to be a Nazareth Blue

I, Patrick Moore, want to join NJHS, and I exemplify the five pillars of NJHS necessary to do so. The five pillars of NJHS are scholarship, character, leadership, citizenship, and service. I show these qualities through my everyday life, by going to school, doing community service, and by participating in extracurricular activities such as sports and clubs. These five qualities are more than just things in NJHS to me because I take these qualities and try to incorporate them into my life. I do this because they are important and meaningful to me.
I exemplify the quality of scholarship by how I act at school. I take school seriously and enjoy it at the same time. This means that I work my hardest on every assignment, and I always put forth my...show more content...
I think that citizenship and service are linked in a way. I think that to be a good citizen and properly fulfill your role, you have to help out in the community. I do my part at school by doing what teachers ask of me, always being respectful, and by taking the time to do things the right way such as putting things in the right bins at the end of lunch. I also serve my community by doing community service hours and by picking up litter. I do community service hours by organizing food drives, volunteering at a food bank, and by helping out in a community garden. I help out in this garden by watering it, and I also take the food from it to Friendship Trays.
I desire to be a part of NJHS, and I think that I possess the qualities necessary to be in NJHS. I exemplify the quality of scholarship by how I act at school and at home. I exemplify the quality of character by being honest and by being an individual. I exemplify the quality of leadership by helping out my teammates and classmates. I exemplify the qualities of citizenship and service by playing my part in the community and by doing community service. NJHS would be a wonderful thing for me, and I think that I should be in
