DNA Go-Grips and Pro-Grips are the result of thoughtful design by DNA’s Creative Director and former national-level gymnast, Ariel Crawford. Drawing from her elite gymnastics background, Ariel recognized the need for durable, affordable grips that support athletes across all skill levels and disciplines. After years of testing and refinement, these high-quality grips—crafted right here in Canada—have become a trusted choice for gymnasts nationwide.
WHERE IT
In 1994, Diane Crawford, our CEO, started sewing gymnastics leotards for her children, driven by a passion for quality and a deep understanding of the sport. As demand grew, Di’s Designs became the go-to source for custom gymnastics apparel across Saskatchewan and the Prairies.
In 2017, the business expanded to include Can-Grip gymnastics grips, led by Diane’s daughter, Ariel Crawford, a former national-level gymnast. Together, they rebranded as DNA Performance Wear, combining their expertise to offer top-quality apparel and equipment to athletes across Canada.
DNA has navigated unprecedented challenges and celebrated many achievements in its 30+ year existence, including its partnership with Canadian gymnastics legend, Ellie Black. The company’s resilience and perseverance to strive for bigger, better, and more sparkly opportunities is a testament to the amazing mother-daughter duo that brought their dreams together and forged a team that’s willing to go the distance. WHERE
Diane’s dream began as a basement operation in her home, fueled by countless late nights of pencil sketching, drafting, erasing, and resketching. As demand grew from parents and coaches seeking quality gymnastics wear, the need for a team and more space became evident. In 2017, the business moved into a commercial space to meet the growing demand and expand services, including custom sublimation, embellishment creation, and wholesale garment production. Our facility is located in the heart of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
