It is my honor and joy to welcome you to Legends 2025 and our 10th Anniversary Celebration “Echoes of Excellence – A Harlem Nights Affair.” Tonight, we gather to raise our collective consciousness about the plight of Black women and girls. The Harlem Renaissance was more than a cultural movement; it was an act of defiance a declaration that Black brilliance, creativity, and resilience would not be silenced. In that same spirit, we come together to celebrate our triumphs, reflect on our progress, and renew our commitment to unapologetic advocacy
In a time when the moral, political, and financial fabric of our nation is being tested when access, equity, and truth itself are under siege our call is clear: We must resist through advocacy. Resistance, for us, is not anger without aim; it is strategy wrapped in purpose. It is the determined act of showing up, speaking truth, and lifting our sisters and daughters until every door of opportunity stands wide open.
Tonight, we honor five local Legends extraordinary individuals whose leadership has transformed lives and strengthened communities They embody the essence of the Harlem spirit fierce, visionary, and full of light. We celebrate them not only for what they have achieved but for how they have paved the way for others to follow.
To my sisters of the Phoenix Metropolitan Chapter: You are the heartbeat of this movement. For a decade, your dedication, intellect, and passion have fueled our programs, built partnerships, and advanced our mission. Advocacy may look different from person to person. Whether you are the activist, educator, policy maker, storyteller, or investor, there is a place in the movement for you. Your work matters. Your voice matters. And your presence at the table ensures that decisions are made with us in mind. Together, we will continue to advocate, educate, and elevate unapologetically.
To our friends, supporters, and community allies thank you for your past and continued support. We recognize that some partnerships have shifted, yet our resolve has not. The mission continues, and we invite you to stand with us as we work toward justice, equity, and empowerment When you partner with us, you are investing in a future where every Black woman and girl can live, lead, and thrive without limits.
May this night remind us that our legacy is not one of survival alone, but of joyful resistance and collective victory. Here’s to the next ten years of impact, innovation, and unapologetic advocacy
With Gratitude and Joy, Rev.SheriolynCurryHodge

We further commit ourselves to impacting the community by advocating for policies and practices that will serve as the catalysts for effecting sustainable change. As advocates, we engage in intentional activities that identify, develop, groom, and empower Black women leaders. We ensure the enactment of legislation that favorably impacts not only Black women, but all women, while working with fervor to halt legislation that negatively impacts us. We are here to support and champion the next generation of successful Black women, beginning with our girls.
Thank you for supporting this fundraising event and for your unwavering commitment to the Phoenix Metropolitan Chapter.
