Jennifer Stein

Director of Student Activities Jennifer Stein is a relatively new face at Winton Drive. She has been at De La Salle for just over a year. However, the mark she has made in this short time has been immense – from introducing a plethora of exciting new activities and intramurals, to dances that appeal to the entire student body and a renewed emphasis on student recognition and leadership. Interestingly, Jennifer’s pathway into Student Activities began with a love of libraries and how they build community through universal accessibility. It was this appreciation, and a discovery that she liked working with teenagers, that led her to take a librarian position with her alma mater, Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School (SJND) in Alameda 17 years ago. While at SJND, Jennifer quickly realized that “the best way to support students is to get involved.” And that is exactly what she did. Over the course of her time at SJND, Jennifer directed six musicals, participated in countless retreats and service opportunities, and led a number of educational trips – including travel to Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Ecuador, Peru, and Thailand. By the time she officially transitioned into a Student Activities role with the school, she had fully embraced her passion to positively impact her students’ present and future lives. Now, De La Salle gets to reap the benefits of everything that Jennifer has learned as she sets out to celebrate each and every student at our school. Her ultimate goal is to make the Spartan experience a fun and memorable one that is inclusive and creates a true sense of belonging and community. We recently caught up with Jennifer to learn more about what makes her tick. What is the one thing you want readers to know about you? I genuinely care about the students and the work that I do. I have high expectations, but I also offer high levels of support. If you can dream it, I can help you achieve it. I am always open and thrive off building relationships with others.
