“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus”
Philippians 2:5

A native of Roberta, Georgia, Reverend George Respress entered the military in 1976 and retired in 1996. While serving in the U. S. Army, he united in marriage to Varnell (Owens) Respress and they are they proud parents of two daughters (Stephanie and Danielle), and Grandparents to (Jonathan Noah) and (Serenity Symone).
Reverend Respress accepted his call into ministry at the Center Hill Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia where he preached his initial sermon in September 1998. He was later ordained into the gospel ministry in August 2000, under the leadership of the late Reverend Leroy Reeves Jr.
After being called into the gospel Ministry, Pastor Respress continued his religious studies at Beulah Heights University in Atlanta, Georgia where he graduated (Summa Cum Laude) and was awarded a Bachelor of Biblical Studies Degree. God saw fit to elevate his ministry and he was called to Pastor the Smith Chapel Baptist Church in Musella, Georgia where the goodness of God has placed him for 14 years.
Feeling the need to further his education, he enrolled at Mercer University, Macon, Georgia and received a bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education. He used his educational pursuits to teach Middle Grade students at Stockbridge Middle School for 9 years.
Pastor Respress continues to be a significant voice in Christian Ministry serving as the Vice Moderator of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Association; and as the community representative for the School Improvement Program (SIP) of the Crawford County Elementary School. He and his wife also volunteer with Read United (a branch of United Way) at the Crawford County Primary School to ensure the reading success of our students.
With much integrity, Pastor Respress excels in leading his family and church family. God is using him to take His people to a new era while staying in the Word.

Message from the Pastor
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Greetings my brothers and sisters in Christ. To God Be The Glory!! This is the day that the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it. I praise God every day in every way for all that He has done in these eight years that He has allowed me to serve as the Servant Leader of some of God’s most faithful and committed people.
Galilee Church Family, each of you have been a blessing to me and my family and for that I am truly grateful. I thank God for His Grace and Mercy which has kept us together as One Body in Christ and empowered, equipped, and enabled us to do Great Ministry Work in Kingdom Building.
As we celebrate eight years together, there is a great challenge ahead of us. Let us therefore continue to grow spiritually, walk circumspectly, pray fervently, and serve better until we become the church God intends us to be.
We have come this far by Faith and with the help of the Lord, greater blessings are on the way. I thank my family, my friends, and all my fellow laborers in the ministry for your Love and Unwavering Support.
Special thanks to the Love of My Life of 46 years, my wife (Renee) for standing with me, walking with me, and encouraging me.

Not About Us, It’s All About Jesus”
