ThistractorcompliesstrictlywiththeEuropeanRegulationsonelectromagneticemissions. However,interferencemayariseasaresultofadd--onequipmentwhichmaynotnecessarilymeettherequiredstandards.

Assuchinterferencecanresultinseriousmalfunctionof theunitand/orcreateunsafesituations,youmustobserve thefollowing:

• Ensurethateachpieceofnon--NewHollandequipmentfittedtothetractorbearsthemark.

• Themaximumpowerofelectromagneticemissionequipment(radio,telephones,etc.)mustnotexceedthe limitsimposedbythenationalauthoritiesofthecountrywhereyouusethetractor.

• Theelectromagneticfieldgeneratedbytheadd--onsystemshouldnotexceed24V/matanytimeandatany locationintheproximityofelectroniccomponents.

FailuretocomplywiththeseruleswillrendertheNewHollandwarrantynullandvoid.

WARRANTY

Thetractorisguaranteedinaccordancewithcurrentlegislationinyourcountryandinlinewithcontractualagreementsreachedwiththedealeratthetimeofsale.However,thewarrantyisnolongervalidiftherulesandinstructionsfortheuseandmaintenanceofthetractor,describedinthisManual,arenotobserved.

CLEANINGTHETRACTOR

Yourtractorisanadvancedmachine,fittedwithanelectrohydrauliccontrolsystem.Caremustbetakenwhen cleaningthetractor,especiallyifapressurizedwatercleanerisused.

• Neverstandtooclosetothetractorordirectthewaterjetonelectricalcomponents,sealsorintakeopenings, etc.

• Neverdirectjetsofcoldwateratthehotengineorexhaust.

IMPORTANTECOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS

Soil,airandwaterareessentialelementsforagricultureandforlifeingeneral.Iflocallegislationdoesnot controlthetreatmentofcertainsubstances,theproductionofwhichisnecessitatedbyadvancedtechnologies,productsderivedfromchemicalandpetrochemicalproductsmustbeusedanddisposedof accordingtotherulesofcommonsense.

Thefollowingrecommendationsmaybeofhelp:

• Findoutwhattherelevantlegislationinyour countrystipulates.

• Askyoursuppliersoflubricants,oils,fuels,anti-freeze,detergents,etc.forinformationontheeffectsoftheseproductsonhumansandtheenvironmentandforinstructionsconcerningtheir use,storageanddisposal.Inmanycases,local agriculturalconsultantswillbeabletoprovideassistance.

SUGGESTIONS

1.Avoidusingunsuitable,pressurisedfillingsystemsorfuelcanswhenfillingtanks,asthese maycauseconsiderablespillageandleakageof liquids.

4.Avoidspillagewhentransferringusedengine coolingliquids,engineandtransmissionlubricants,hydraulicoils,brakefluids,etc.Nevermix usedbrakeoilwithfueloil,orfueloilwithlubricants.Storesafelyuntilsuitabledisposalcanbe arrangedaccordingtonationallegislationorlocal regulations.

5.Modernanti--freezeliquidsandsolutions,e.g. anti--freezeandotheradditives,mustbereplacedeverytwoyears.Theymustnotbelefttobe absorbedintotheground,butmustbecollected anddisposedofinasuitablemanner.

6.Donotopentheairconditioningsystemstocarry outwork.Thesesystemscontaingasthatmust notbereleasedintotheatmosphere.Contact yourdealerorspecialisedpersonnel,whoare equippedwiththeappropriateequipmentand areauthorisedtore--fillthesystem.

7.Anyleakageordefectintheenginecoolingorhydraulicsystemsmustberepairedimmediately.

8.Donotincreasethepressureinpressurisedsystems,asthismaycausecomponentpartsto burst.

9.Whenwelding,makesurethathosesareproperlyprotectedassparksormoltenmaterialmay punctureorweakenthetubesandsleeves,resultinginleakageofoil,coolingliquid,etc.

10.Donotadjustthesettingofthefueldeliverysystemasthiswillaltertheemissionofexhaust fumes.

2.Asageneralrule,donotallowliquidfuels,lubricants,acids,solvents,etc.,tocomeintocontact withtheskin.Themajorityoftheseproductscontainsubstancesthatarepotentialhealthhazards.

WORKINGSAFELY

1.Duringthemanufacturingofthistractor,every stephasbeentakentoensuresafeoperation. However,thebestwaytoavoidaccidentsisto exercisecautionatalltimes.Oncetheaccident hasalreadyhappeneditistoolatetoremember whatstepsshouldhavebeentaken.

6.Itisadvisabletokeepafirstaidkitonhand.

2.Readthismanualcarefullybeforestarting,using, carryingoutmaintenance,refuellingorperforminganyothertypeofoperationonthetractor.

7.Thetractormustonlybeusedbyresponsible personnel,trainedintractoruseandauthorised tooperatethemachine.

3.Thetimespentreadingthismanualwillallowyou togettoknowyourtractor,therebysavingtime andeffort.Thiswillalsohelppreventaccidents fromtakingplace.

8.Donotaltertheinjectionsystemcalibrationinan attempttoincreasemaximumenginespeed.

4.Readallthesafetydecalsonthemachineand followtheinstructionsthereonbeforestarting, operating,refuellingorcarryingoutmaintenance onthemachine.Promptlyreplaceanydecals thataredamaged,lostorillegible. Cleanthedecalsiftheyarecoveredbymudor debris.

9.Donotwearlooseclothingthatmaybetrappedin movingparts. Checkthatallrotatingpartsconnectedtothe powertake--offarecorrectlyprotected.

5.Rememberthatthetractorisexclusivelydesignedforagriculturaluse.AnyotherusewillrequirepriorauthorisationfromNEWHOLLAND.

10.Donotalterthecalibrationofthepressurerelief valvesinthevarioushydrauliccircuits(hydrostaticsteering,hydrauliclift,auxiliarydistributors, etc.).

17.Neverstartormanoeuvrethetractorunlessseatedinthedrivingposition.

11.Avoidusingthetractorinunsuitablephysical conditions,stopworkinstead.

12.Enterandleavethetractorusingthestepsand handlesprovided.Keepthesefittingsfreeofmud anddebris.

13.Alwaysoperatewiththecaborrollbarcorrectly andsecurelyfittedonthetractor:periodically checkthatthefittingsarenotlooseandthatall partsofthestructurearefreefromanydamage anddeformation.Donotmodifytherollbarby weldingparts,drillingholes,etc.,asthiscould adverselyaffecttherigidityofthestructure.

STARTINGTHETRACTOR

14.Beforestartingtheengine,checkthatthe handbrakeisonandthatthegearsandpower take--offaredisengaged,evenifthetractoris fittedwithastart--upsafetydevice.Never disconnectthestart--upsafetyswitch.Ifthe switchdoesnotworkcorrectly,contactyourlocal dealerforeventualrepairoperations.

18.Beforemovingthetractor,alwayscheckthatthe areaisfreeofpersonsorobstacles.

15.Beforestartingtheengine,makesurethatallattachedimplementsareloweredtotheground.

19.Neverruntheengineinaclosedspacewithout ensuringadequateventilation.Exhaustfumes aredamagingtothehealthandcanbelethal.

16.Beforestartingtheengine,checkthatallcovers andguardsarecorrectlyinposition(rollbar,bonnetsidepanels,powertake--offguard,frontaxle transmissionshaftcover,etc.).

20.Selectthemostsuitablewheelsettingforthe workinhand,i.e.:thesettingthatprovidesthe beststability.

22.Whentravellingdownhill,keepthetractorin gear.Neverreleasetheclutchandneverleave thegearsinneutral.

23.Whenthetractorismoving,theoperatormustremaincorrectlyseatedinthedrivingposition.

24.Nevergetonoroffthetractorwhileinmovement.

25.Whenusingthebrakes,pressthepedaldown slowly.

26.Avoidtakingbendsathighspeeds.

27.Alwaysusethetractorataspeedthatwillguaranteesafeoperationonthetypeoflandbeing worked.Whenworkingonunevenground,use maximumcaretoensureproperstability.

21.Engagetheclutchslowly:ifengagedtooquickly, especiallywhenthetractorisgettingoutofahole,ditchoroperatingonmuddygroundorsteep slopes,thetractormayoverturn. Releasetheclutchimmediatelyifthefrontwheels starttolift.

28.Ifyouhavetoworkwiththetractoronagradient, forexampleonhillsides,driveatmoderatespeed especiallywhentakingbends.

29.Proceedwithmaximumcautionwhenworking withthewheelsneartheedgeofditchesorslopes.

36.Foryourownsafety,donottowtrailersthatare notfittedwithanindependent brakingsystem.

37.Ifthetractorisusedtotowheavyloads,always usethehitchingdeviceandneverhitchloadsontothelowerarmsorthetoplinkofthethree--point linkage.Thismayresultintippingoroverturning.

38.Whentowing,donotnegotiatebendswiththedifferentiallockengagedasthismaypreventyou fromsteeringthetractor.

USINGIMPLEMENTS

39.Donotconnectimplementsormachinerythatrequiremorepowerthancanbegeneratedbyyour tractormodel.

40.Nevernegotiatesharpbendswiththepowertake--offunderaheavyload;thismaydamagethe universaljointsonthetransmissionshaftconnectedtothepowertake--off.

41.Neverstandbetweenthereversingtractorand theimplementwhenhitching.

42.Whenusingimplementsthatrequirethetractor tobestationarywiththeenginerunning,keepthe gearandrangeleversintheneutralposition,applythehandbrakeandusesuitablewheel chocks.
