Safety Rules
● Beforestartingtheengine,besurealloperatingcontrolsareinneutral. Thiswilleliminateaccidentalmovementofthemachineorstartupof power driven equipment. R 106C
● Operate controls only when seated in the Operators seat. R137
● Securelyfastenyourseatbelt.YourtractorisequippedwithaROPScabor frameforyourprotection.Theseatbeltcanhelpinsureyoursafetyifitis usedandmaintained.Neverwearaseatbeltlooselyorwithslackinthe beltsystem.Neverwearthebeltinatwistedconditionorpinchedbetween the seat structural members. R271
● Afrequentcauseofpersonalinjuryordeathispersonsfallingoffandbeing runover.Donotpermitotherstoride.Onlyoneperson-theoperatorshould be on the machine when it is in operation. R115A


● Beforeleavingthetractor,stoptheengineandremovethekeyfromthekey switch, put all controls in NEUTRAL and apply the park brake.
● Stayoffslopestoosteepforsafeoperation.Shiftdownbeforeyoustartup or down a hill with a heavy load. Avoid "free wheeling". R123
● Donotdriveonroads,orathighspeedanywhere,withthedifferentiallock engaged.Difficultsteeringwilloccur,andcanresultinanaccident.Infield operation,usethedifferentiallockfortractionimprovement,butreleasefor turning at row ends. R116
● Travelspeedshouldbesuchthatcompletecontrolandmachinestabilityis maintainedatalltimes.Wherepossible,avoidoperatingnearditches, embankmentsandholes.Reducespeedwhenturning,crossingslopes, and on rough, slick, or muddy surfaces. R109A
● Collisionofhighspeedroadtrafficandtractorsorimplementscancause personalinjuryordeath.Onroads,useflasher/lightsaccordingtolocal laws.KeepSMVemblemvisible.Pullovertoletfastertrafficpass.Slow down and signal before turning off.
● Brakepedalsmustbelockedtogetherforroadtravel.Thiswillinsure uniform brake application and maximum stopping ability. R112
● Makesurethattheweightofatrailedvehiclethatisnotequippedwith brakes,NEVEREXCEEDStheweightofthemachinethatistowingthe vehicle.Stoppingdistanceincreaseswithincreasingspeedastheweight of the towed load increases, especially on hills and slopes. R114A
● Extraweightandbadtractionconditionssuchasmudoriceincreaseyour stoppingdistance.Rememberthatliquidinthetires,weightsonthe machineorwheels,tanksfilledwithfertilizer,herbicidesorinsecticides;all these add weight and increase the distance you need to stop. R113A

● Rearupsetcanresultifpullingfromwronglocationontractor.Hitchonlyto thedrawbar.Use3pointhitchonlywiththeimplementsdesignedforits use -not as a drawbar. R119
● PTOdrivenmachinerycancauseseriousinjury.Beforeworkingonornear thePTOshaft,orservicingorclearingthedrivenmachine,putthePTO lever in the DISENGAGE position and STOP the engine. R154
● WheneveraPTOdrivenmachineisinoperation,thePTOguardmustbein placeformostoperationstopreventinjurytotheoperatororbystanders. Whereattachments,suchaspumps,areinstalledonthePTOshaft (especiallyifthetractorPTOguardismovedupwardorremoved)extended shieldingequivalenttothePTOguardmustbeinstalledwiththe attachment.InstallthePTOguardtoitsoriginalpositionimmediatelywhen the attachment is removed. ● WhendoingstationaryPTOworkanddismountingfromthetractorwiththe PTOrunning,keepclearofallmovingpartsastheyareapotentialsafety hazard. R127
● Neveroperatetheengineinaclosedbuilding.Properventilationisrequired under all circumstances. R142
● Neverrefuelthemachinewhentheengineishotorrunning.Neversmoke while refuelling. R139B
● Check and service cooling system according to maintenance instructions.
● Hotcoolantcansprayoutifradiatorcapisremovedwhilethesystemis hot.Toremoveradiatorcap,letsystemcool,turntofirstnotch,thenwait untilallpressureisreleased.Scaldingcanresultfromfastremovalof radiator cap. R141
● Hydraulicoilordieselfuelleakingunderpressurecanpenetratetheskin and cause infection or other injury.
To Prevent Personal Injury:
Relieve all pressure, before disconnecting fluid lines. Beforeapplyingpressure,makesureallconnectionsaretightand components are in good condition.
Never use your hand to check for suspected leaks under pressure. Use a piece of cardboard or wood for this purpose.
If injured by leaking fluid, see your doctor immediately. R149
● Batteryexplosionand/ordamagetoelectricalcomponentscanresultfrom improperconnectionofboosterbatteriesorcharger.Connectpositiveto positiveandnegativetonegative.Externally,batteryacidcancauseburns and blindness, and taken internally is poison. R146
● Itisgoodpracticetocarryafireextinguisheronthemachine.Besurethat theextinguisherisproperlymaintainedandbefamiliarwithitsproperuse. R102A
● Thistractorisequippedwithaspringappliedmechanicalfrontwheeldrive (MFD)clutchandafrontaxlelimitedslipdifferential.EvenwiththeMFD engagingswitchintheOFFposition,thefrontaxleclutchcanpropelboth front wheels if any of the following conditions occur:
1. The engine is turned off.
2. The engine is stopped when the rear wheels are still coasting.
3.Anyinterruptionintheclutchoperatinghydraulicsystemfloworpressure or in the electrical controls for clutch operation.
For these reasons, the following service procedures must be followed. BeforerotatingtherearwheelsofaMFDtractor(ifyouareusingengine powerwiththerearwheelssupportedofftheground),oneofthefollowing procedures must be done to prevent an accidental tractor movement.
1. Jack up and support BOTH front wheels completely off the ground. OR
2. Disconnect the front wheel drive shaft.
DoingoneofthesetwoprocedureswillinsurethatengagementoftheMFD clutch will not result in tractor movement.
MOUNTING AND DISMOUNTING THE TRACTOR
WARNING: Jumpingonoroffthetractorcancauseaninjury.Alwaysface thetractor,usethehandrailsandsteps,andgetonoroffslowly.Maintain athreepointcontacttoavoidfalling,(bothhandsonrailsandonefooton the step, or one hand on the hand rail and both feet on the steps).
Whenmountingordismountingthetractorusethelefthanddoorwhen possible.Ifyouusetherighthanddoor,avoidinterferencewiththecontrol levers.

SAFETY DECALS
WARNING: Injuryordeathcanresultifyoucannotreadasafetydecalor ifasafetydecalismissing.Replaceanymissingordamagedsafetydecal and keep all safety decals clean. See your dealer for new safety decals.


Makesurethatyoureadallsafetydecalsandallinstructiondecals.Check thesedecalseverydaybeforeyoustart.Cleanthesedecalsifyoucannotread the words.
Whenyoucleanthedecals,useonlyacloth,water,andsoap.Donotuse solvent, gasoline, etc.
Youmustreplaceadecalifthedecalisdamaged,thedecalismissing,orthe decal cannot be read.
Ifadecalisonapartthatisreplaced,makesureyouinstallanewdecalon the new part. See your Case dealer for new decals.
WARNING
Toavoidpossibleeye damagefrommicrowave signalsemittedbythis radarsensor,donotlook directly into sensor face.

AVOID INJURY OR DEATH
BEFORE STARTING ENGINE:
● Read operators manual for safety information and operating instructions.
● Read all tractor safety signs.


● Besureotherpeopleareclearof tractor and equipment.
● Besuregearshiftisinneutraland PTO control is off.
● Start engine only from seat.
● Shieldsareforyourprotection. Keep them in place.
OPERATION:
● Actuateforward/reverseleveronly from the operator‘s seat.
● WithROPS,alwaysbuckleand adjust seat belt.

● No riders on tractor or equipment.
● Keephands,feet,andclothing away from power driven parts.
● Forroadtravel,couplebrake pedals,useflashingwarning lampsunlessprohibitedbylaw and keep SMV emblem visible.
TRACTORS CAN BE UPSET:
● Reducespeedonturnsandrough ground. Avoid steep slopes.

● Avoidrearupset.Pullonlyfrom drawbar, never higher.
WHEN TRACTOR HAS STOPPED:
● Putforward/reverseandrange levers in neutral.
● Engage park lock or brake.
● Lower implement to ground.
● DisengeagePTO,stopengine,and waitforallmovementtostop beforeservicingorclearing equipment. 220 776 A2

YourtractorcanbeequippedwithaROPSframeorcab.AllROPSare equippedwithseatbelts.Seatbeltsarepartofyourprotectivesystemand mustbewornatalltimes.Iftheprotectiveframeorcabistowork,theoperator mustbeheldintheseatinsidetheframe.Carefullyfollowallinstructionstoget all the safety advantages of the equipment provided.
WARNING: Securelyfastenyourseatbelt.Yourtractorisequippedwitha ROPScaborframeforyourprotection.Theseatbeltcanhelpinsureyour safetyifitisusedandmaintained.Neverwearaseatbeltlooseorwith slackinthebeltsystem.Neverwearthebeltinatwistedconditionor pinched between the seat structural members.

ROPSisaspecialsafetyunit.TheROPSmustbereplacedwithanewROPS if damaged, to ensure you will get the same protection.
ROPS,theoperatorsseat,theseatbeltandallthemountingaccessoriesand wiringinsidetheoperatorsprotectivesystemmustbecarefullycheckedifa ROPSframe/cabisdamaged,andalldamagedpartsreplacedwithnewparts immediately.

DO NOT TRY TO MAKE REPAIRS OR WELD ROPS.
