Whilst living in London I was visually astounded everyday by the architectural beauty the city has to offer. The diversity of each street is enchanting not knowing what you are going to come across around the next corner. From the more ‘hip’ and ‘urban’ offerings in East London to the more ‘traditional’ in the west and of course, Central London where the two collide to create the most amazing streets intwined in architectual history, lined with buildings from different time periods that next to each other don’t seem out of place at all but sit in perfect harmony.

Intertwine Texture is a project that is an exploration of illusion, not only visually but texturally. Is it really there? Or is it a deception in your mind? This project has unfolded through experimentation with different mediums and techniques, combining them to create illusive matters; these include paper weaving, laser cutting, bonding and CAD. Using architecture as the main inspiration point, it then evolved by using major influences from Artists such as Bridget Riley employing precise measurement along with a dash of improvisation and caution and then combining them with the painterly style brush strokes of Jenny Saville, Rauschenberg and Patrick Heron.

The collection of print samples that were designed during this project are focused towards Womenswear, but could easily be applied to Menswear and even Interiors.
