Another e-commerce giant in the region, Souq.com is one of the oldest entrants to the market (that survived) and is mostly popular for their consumer electronics products. Souq.com has a really rich investor. It’s owned by Al Jabbar Internet Group known for Maktoob.com which they sold to Yahoo! for $165 million. Souq.com offers free delivery upon online payments and the option to pay cash on delivery. Their constantly changing policies and slightly unreliable shipment deadlines can become slightly irksome though.

What I especially love is that residents of Riyadh can pay cash on delivery and shipping is within five working days. Once I ordered a wallet around noon and got it by 8:00 p.m.!
