Hello Hippos! As crazy as it sounds, the school year is almost coming to an end, which means summer fun time! Finals are coming up along with SATs, and ACTs and I wish all of you the best of luck. You intelligent Hippos will do great, I BEElieve in you! Don’t forget service opportunities are always by your side when you’re feeling stressed, or if you simply just want to take a break from studying. As seniors are graduating, make sure you let all the Key Club seniors know how much you’ll miss them and thank them for all they’ve done. Whether it was guidance, advice, or rides to events, it will warm their heart to receive appreciation from you. I know I’ll be missing the seniors within this division dearly. Thank you so much for acting as mentors, making this organization we love and serve more fun, and passing on the Division 21 legacy. In addition, thank your Faculty Advisors and Kiwanis Advisors for watching over you at events, meetings, and much more. Without them, there would be no Key Club! Now that summer is emerging, it’s the perfect time to go visit your sponsoring Kiwanis at their meetings! Please inform them before you visit to ensure they have enough room. If you’re not sure who your sponsoring Kiwanis is, please don’t hesitate to ask! It is vital to establish contact with your sponsoring Kiwanis as they do so much for us. Don’t want to go alone? I’d be more than happy to tag along! Munchin' for Serive,

Walk for Animals Walk for Animals was an amazing new event that Mira Mesa got to volunteer at on May 5th! It was an extremely needed escape and destressor right before AP tests that 6 MMHS key clubbers gladly attended. We got to cheer on people and pets alike as they walked to show their support for the San Diego Humane Society, and we even got to pet some dogs during our time there! Overall, the event was a blast that we will be sure to return to again next year! -Micah Barreyro, Mira Mesa

Miracle Miles of quarters

10

Miracle Miles of Quarters is an annual event held at Rady Children’s Hospital held by our Kiwanis as a fundraiser benefiting the hospital. The participants used money raised over the past year by our Kiwanis to create an artistic piece of art displayed on red carpets. On top of that, each team is competing against one another for a prize, but most importantly, it was an opportunity for members to bond with one another and communicate effectively to build a masterpiece that will help progress the hospital for future advancements and assist in improving care given to patients. -David Thai, Kearny

March For Babies

We had seven members that came to March for Babies and had such an amazing time at this event. We cheered and guided the runners who participated in the run. We used pompoms and gave out positive messages to keep the runners motivated. By the end of the event, we got free tacos and chocolate cake from jack in the box which was pretty lit. -Long Phan, Patrick Henry

Mission Federal Artwalk San Diego Mission Federal Artwalk San Diego is an annual art festival, an opportunity for artists to share and sell their work! Not only did we get to volunteer and help, we got to see beautiful artwork and walk around Downtown San Diego. It was nice to be helpful to artists and the organizers and help them wrap up the event. I do not attend a lot of community events, but after this, I feel that I will be more involved in San Diego's events! -Lily Tran, High Tech
