On the evening of May 2nd, we celebrated our key club’s 50th year anniversary. Presidents and alumnus from past terms came and talked about their past times serving in our key club. I had a lot of fun and when they welcomed retiring board members on to the stage, my eyes filled with tears and I was so sad but seeing them together made me feel really happy. Mrs. Crawford, our club advisor, welcomed the new board and I had to walk on stage in front of a lot of people, which was terrifying.

On May 2, Patrick Henry Key Club celebrated its 50th anniversary. Alumni from all over the years came to celebrate the historical moment. It was enlightening to be able to see so many people come out to this event, each with their own story, as it shows the impact Key Club has made on them, as well as being able to experience such a big milestone. Here, we also transferred from old to new board as we each went up on stage. It was definitely a bittersweet moment but I’m also very excited to work along with my board

Ocean Beach Kite Festival This is my second year volunteering at the Ocean Beach Kite Festival and it was just as fun as the last! Hosted by Ocean Beach Kiwanis, we get to give back to our Kiwanis members by helping at their event. We got to help kids make kites and bond with the division as the new term is settling in. DLT was also announced and I am static to start working with them. What a great way to start the term!!

Lily Tran, President The Ob kite festival was fun allowing me to socialize with kids. At first, we were taught how to make the kites and then we instantly started building kites. During the building I learned a lot about the people who’s kites a built purely of the artwork that was on their kites. In the end, the kite festival was just really fun and interactive.

Miramar Ranch Annual Spaghetti Dinner True to tradition, Scripps Ranch High School held their popular annual Spaghetti Dinner at Miramar Ranch Elementary, on May 31st. Walking

through the school during their Open House surely brought back many nostalgic memories for the members, as parents and kids began to line up to be served a delicious spaghetti dinner. The event was fully attended, with an abundance of 20 members, as well as the appearance of a few from the Mira Mesa branch. Despite any previous rivalry between schools, members from both clubs worked in harmony to cook and serve garlic bread and spaghetti to the awaiting families. The raised money from the event all went to Miramar Ranch’s Art Corps, to provide their students with a better art program. After attending to their duties, members got their
