The renegade classroom served to emphasize the change in the classroom environment which we began to see after the events of 2020. The structure was set in Saxon Park in Norman, OK and would serve the community as an open-air learning or event space. The project is made mainly of wood and consists of restrooms, a small kitchen, office space, storage, and an open concept multipurpose space. This was also our first building design project.
The Norman Equine Assisted Therapy Center served as an extension of the JD McCarty Center for Children with Developmental Disabilities. The center is a place that fosters hope and growth for children and parents alike. Their mission being to "enrich the lives of children" through practices such as equine therapy. The equine center contains stables, a riding area, and turnout area where children can interact with horses and experience them in varying levels of exposure; offering a safe transition into the world of horses The building is programmed with clear, unobstructed pathways to help make navigating it easy for both staff and visitors, and also provides private office and storage spaces for staff members. The roof was also designed with its inhabitants in mind, helping to regulate the buildings temperature through use of passive systems such as wind and sun interaction.

An urban farming center works to grow plants within a city to provide fresh food, create employment opportunities, recycle waste, and strengthen the areas resilience. Urban farming centers help to reduce poverty, improve resident health, and connect them to the environment by providing education opportunities on the food/produce life cycle. The center works to celebrate agriculture, the natural environment, and the technology required to do so. Whilst the building houses a café which is consistent with the existing buildings around the site, this building also provides a connection between the community and its environment by being an educational facility (showing the process from seed to table), it also provides fresh produce and employment opportunities for the community.
