establishedin1997,hasbeen locatedatitspresentsitesince November2004.Managedbythe WildlifesosTrustandincorporating SecondChanceWildlifeRehabilitation Centre,weareanon-profit organisation(169-719NPO) (930053148PBO).Notgovernment subsidised,werelysolelyonthe generosityofthepublicand corporatecommunitiestoensurewe achieveourgoalsandremain sustainable.
Weareforemostaneducational facilityandnotanentertainment facility,whichinitselfsetsour projectapartfromothersinthe country.Webelievethatthe wellbeingofouranimalsisalwaysour numberonepriority,notthefiscal aspectoftheactivitiesonofferfor publicentertainment.TheCentre’s originalaimwasasaneducational centre,teachingmembersofthe publicaboutraptorsandpromoting anawarenessoftheraptorspecies andtheirplightasagrowing endangeredspecies.Theneedfor careofinjuredandorphanedbirdsof preyprescribedtheevolvingofthe rehabilitationcentreaswell.We
successfullyreleasebetween80and 200birdsayear.
Weareasmalldedicatedteamoflikemindedindividuals(morelikefamily thancolleagues),fromdifferent backgroundsandagegroups,bringing togethertraininginNature Conservation,CaptiveAnimal Management,WildlifeRehabilitation, andFalconry.Wealsoliketohavefun.
