El estado de Guanajuato posee el lujo de alojar al menos un color por mes. Desde los rojos colorines en las copas de los árboles de mayo hasta los morados de junio cuando, inesperadamente y por unas semanas, las calles se visten con el dosel violáceo de las flores de las jacarandas y el asfalto se convierte en una resbaladiza alfombra cárdena en la que abren surco los automóviles. Los amarillos de diciembre con los pastos ávidos de riego y, a veces, cubiertos de nieblas. Los azules radiantes de febrero, los verdes aceitosos de septiembre. Todos los colores. Es difícil elegir. No obstante, si el viajero tuviera que hacerlo, quizás optaría por la lluvia gris de las tardes de marzo a noviembre.
The state of Guanajuato is so fortunate as to host at least one different color every month. From the red shades on the treetops in May to the purple tones in June, when the streets are embellished with the violet veil of the jacaranda flowers and the asphalt turns into a slippery purplish carpet through which cars try to make their way. December is full of yellow meadows, avid of water, often covered with fog. February is vivid blue, September brings olive green tones... All the colours are here. It is difficult to choose. However, if the traveller had to, he would probably choose the rainy grey afternoons from march to november.

restos de las antiguas vías arrolladas por el agua. Se perforó la montaña para canalizar primero las aguas y luego las vialidades; y hoy los túneles son una parte más del paisaje urbano. Y sólo en el siglo XX, con la construcción de la carretera panorámica, la ciudad pudo crecer de arriba hacia abajo. Este paseo propone una visión poco común de la ciudad, pero la experiencia es mágica. Con principio y final en el jardín Unión, un recorrido a pie -y también en funicular- que sube y baja por la capital entre templos, museos, bellos miradores, plazas y callejas, y que se adentra en túneles y rincones de leyenda. El mejor momento para hacerlo es por la tarde.

a city on three levels Built on a cliff, Guanajuato had to grow vertically in order to survive. Its streets follow the remains of the ancient thoroughfares carved out by water. The mountain was first perforated by channels of water, which subsequently became communication trails and now these tunnels are a part of the cityscape. And only in the twentieth century when the scenic mountain road constructed was the city able to grow from the top downwards. This tour offers a rare view of the city, but the experience is magical. Departing from and ending at the Unión Garden, on foot -also on a funicular- going up and down the capital amidst temples, museums, beatiful vantage points, squares, alleys... and inside tunnels and legendary places. The best time to do this is in the afternoon.

Named after two colonial mansions built over 200 years ago, this comfortable, refined hotel was opened in 2004. This skill of its architects and interior designers is borne out by its attractively distributed spaces and carefully chosen materials and settings. The balance between colonial and contemporary is reflected in the décor and all the rooms which, distributed among three floors, are enhanced by a magnificent terrace that serves as an urban oasis and provides a superb view of San Miguel de Allende.
