Juan Vázquez began and continues on today on the show business. He deals with the scenographical furniture and other theater/movie supplies. At the beginning they worked designing the stages and assisted the artists of the Operas and the Theaters of Madrid, such as the María Guerrero Theatre. They also offered the atrezzo service to the main companies that travelled all over the peninsula at the beginning of the XX century. Later on, they have coped with the new TV tasks. They have been in charge of making the old mute movie’s backdrops, and the new sophisticated sets. They have worked in “La Verbena de la Paloma (1921), “La aldea Maldita” (1929), “Bienvenido Mr. Marshall! (1952) or “Historias de la Radio” (1955).
Juan Vázquez fue el creador de esta saga, que llega hasta la actualidad, dedicada a la creación, suministro y adecuación de mobiliario y atrezzo para la realización de espectáculos (teatro, ópera, cine, televisión, etc.). Los comienzos son como utilleros de los Teatros y Óperas de Madrid, como el Teatro María Guerrero, y como servicio de atrezzo de las grandes compañías que recorrían la península a principios del siglo XX. Después, como creadores o suministradores de material escenográfico que el cine y el medio televisivo han ido requiriendo, desde los telones pintados del cine mudo de los inicios, hasta los sofisticados decorados actuales. De su inmenso currículo destacamos a modo de ejemplo su participación en “La verbena de la paloma” (1921), “La aldea maldita” (1929), “Bienvenido Mr. Marshall!” (1952) o “Historias de la radio” (1955). 11 11
