August Highlights: A Note from Your Lifestyle Director

As the summer sun began to wind down, August proved to be anything but quiet here at Del Webb Fulshear. From island vibes to roaring laughter and heartfelt appreciation, this month reminded us just how vibrant and connected our community truly is.

We started the month with purpose, hosting our American Red Cross Blood Drive at the Clubhouse. It was inspiring to see so many residents step forward to donate and give the gift of life. Your generosity truly made a difference— thank you for showing up for your community and beyond.

Then came the showstopper: our End of Summer LuWOW! This island-inspired celebration brought tropical magic right to the Clubhouse. From pulled pork sandwiches and live entertainment to mesmerizing fire dancing by Drums of the Pacific, the evening was full of rhythm, excitement, and unforgettable memories.

Mid-month, we paused to say thank you with a full Resident Appreciation Week—five straight days of giveaways, free screenings, treats, and themed activities to celebrate the heart of this community: YOU. Whether you joined us for Pops by the Pool, free eye and hearing screenings, or our sponsored events, we hope you felt truly valued.

Speaking of special events, Comedy Night with K-von Moezzi had us laughing nonstop. K-von’s unique brand of humor and charismatic storytelling brought the house down and reminded us how good it feels to simply laugh together.

We also hosted another crowd favorite—Wingo Bingo where the prizes were fun, the competition was fierce, and the good times rolled all night long. It’s quickly becoming a signature event that residents look forward to month after month!

And finally, we closed the month with our biggest event to date: Lakeside LIVE, debuting with none other than The FAB 5! Hundreds of residents turned out to dance under the stars, sing along to the Beatles and more, and celebrate the launch of our new outdoor concert series. This was a milestone night for lifestyle programming at Fulshear—and the energy was electric.

August was a month of celebration, appreciation, and connection. Thank you for bringing your enthusiasm, kindness, and joy to every event. As always, it’s an honor to plan, host, and celebrate alongside you.

Onward to a festive fall—see you at the next event!

Warmly,

A Year-Round Guide to Home Maintenance

Home maintenance may not be glamorous, but it's one of the best ways to protect your investment, avoid costly repairs, and keep everything running smoothly. A little care throughout the year can make a big difference in your comfort and your wallet.

Here's a seasonal guide to help you stay on top of the essentials.

Monthly Must-Do's

Start each month with a quick safety and efficiency check. Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, make sure GFCI outlets and breakers are functioning, and swap out or clean air filters to keep your HVAC system breathing easy. Ch eck grout and caulking in showers and sinks to stop water damage before it starts.

Quarterly Quick Checks

Four times a year, give your home a deeper once-ove r. Clean or replace kitchen vent filters, inspect and re-caulk counters and laminate surfaces, and ensure exterior doors are sealing tightly. Lubricate garage door parts (but not the tracks), clean out dryer vents, and watch for mildew in wet areas.

Spring & Fall Focus

These transitional seasons are perfect for big-pict ure upkeep. Clean gutters and downspouts, inspect washing machine hoses for leaks, and schedu le HVAC servicing before peak heating or cooling months. Check exterior paint and caulking, flush your water heater, and verify that your yard's drainage and irrigation systems are in top shape. Don't forget to winterize before the first freeze.

Summer Safeguards

Beat the heat by checking your HVAC condensate drai n and making sure your main water shutoff works. Inspect the roof from the ground for missing shingles or flashing, seal exposed outdoor wood, and make sure your home is ready for summer storms.

Winter Watchlist

Cold weather brings its own set of challenges. Remo ve ice buildup or debris from the roof to prevent leaks, and wrap and drain your sprinkler system's PVB valve to avoid costly freeze damage.

ISLAND VIBES TAKE OVER DEL WEBB FULSHEAR AT THE ENDOF-SUMMER LU-WOW

Del Webb Fulshear closed out summer in true tropical style with this year’s End-ofSummer Lu-Wow, a vibrant, island-inspired celebration that brought the community together for an unforgettable evening of food, music, and aloha spirit!

The festivities kicked off with a delicious Texas Roadhouse dinner, giving residents the perfect opportunity to mingle, share laughs, and enjoy the warm August evening. But the real show began when Drums of the Pacific – Houston took the stage, captivating the crowd with an energetic performance of authentic Polynesian music, graceful hula dancing, and thrilling fire-knife artistry.

The sights and sounds of the islands transformed the Clubhouse and patio into a mini paradise, with residents swaying to the beat, snapping

photos, and cheering for the mesmerizing fire performances. The evening was filled with smiles, laughter, and that unique blend of relaxation and excitement that only a luau can bring.

A special mahalo goes out to the resident volunteers who stayed after the show to help with cleanup and breakdown —you truly embody the spirit of community that makes Del Webb Fulshear shine. As the sun set and the music faded, residents left with full hearts, happy memories, and just a hint of island magic still in the air. What a perfect way t o send off the summer season —mahalo and see you next year!

COMEDY NIGHT With K-von

K-von brought the laughs to Del Webb Fulshear, keeping the crowd in stitches with his quick wit and hilarious storytelling.

Residents filled the Clubhouse with laughter, cheers, and a few tears from laughing so hard.

It was the perfect midweek pick-me-up— thank you, K-von, for a night to remember!
