LETTER FROM THE

PUBLISHER

WOW...

with two years and four magazines under our belt, we are now stepping up our game and publishing this AWESOME magazine quarterly in 2019! During that time, we have had many, many adventures and learned many, many, lessons…because that is life… right? Without going into detail, I can honestly say this has been a wild ride, and there have been many days that I have felt like throwing in the towel…to just go get a “real” job…but the one thing that keeps this dream alive is my community. At times I feel like I am on this road alone, then other times I’m surrounded by beautiful people and amazing places…or is it amazing people and beautiful places? Either way, it’s awe-inspiring and heartfelt in so many ways: from the trails I get to hike and bike with my daughter, to the river trips we share with friends, to the love and support I get from the amazing people (especially the Women in Tourism) in the Utah Tourism and Outdoor Recreation Industry. It’s called a passion project for a reason, and having a passion for Utah, and adventure seems like no-brainer in my world. OK, enough about that. Let’s move on to this issue in your hand. For starters, I want to give a big shout out to fellow adventure mom-entrepreneur, Arika Bauer, aka ZionAdventurePhotog, who shares her expert advice for exploring the St. George/Zion area during the winter months on page 28. We have pulled The Salt Project into the mix as well, and they give us a Top 10 List of winter-friendly indoor educational centers from around the state on page 40.

Have you heard of the Adventure Mamas Initiative? Check out the full story on Page 36 in the Healthy Moms section. And last but not least, no winter issue would be complete without an article on How to Find the BEST Ski Deals (page 14), because if you haven’t heard, we DO have The Greatest Snow on Earth®…and Ski Utah, the local organization that gets more kids on the slopes annually with their school programs and their 5th/6th grade passports. If you have an adventure to share or a story to tell, please reach out and be a part of our wonderful community of contributors. As a single mom-entrepreneur, collaboration and community are the best way to keep the adventure rolling!! Now get out there…and enjoy the snow, the adventure, and the time with your kids!
