AIR MEDICAL TRUTHS

to Combat the Myths of Membership

What does the No Surprises Act mean to you?

As of January 1, 2022, the No Surprises Act protects patients from large balance bills and surprise costs related to emergency air medical care.

It doesn’t matter who the insurance provider is or if the patient is in-network or out-ofnetwork, the patient can’t get a surprise balance bill no matter who is transporting.

With insurance, patients are only responsible for their deductible, copay or coinsurance just as they would be with any other healthcare service.

Will insured patients get a bill from us?

Over the last five years we have worked tirelessly to go innetwork with insurance companies and have increased our coverage nationally by more than 65%- meaning if you’re insured, you will not receive a bill from us.

Patient Advocacy

It’s part of our core values to give our patients the best experience possible from beginning to end. Through the entire process, we do everything we can to relieve the stress on patients and their families through our Personalized CARE program.

Will memberships save patients money?

A patient may be spending more by paying an annual fee for a membership in addition to a copay, coinsurance or deductible amount when the likelihood of needing air medical transport is very low.

Do Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries need memberships?

Air medical transportation is a covered benefit for both Medicare (Part B) and Medicaid patients. Medicaid patients have no deductible at all therefore you do not need a membership as a Medicaid beneficiary.
