TURTLE Season

Perham, Minn.

Turtle Races are an iconic tradition in Perham dating back to 1978 happening every Wednesday in June, July and August. e family-friendly event attracts thousands of racers every summer coming from all over the world! Come inside the Chamber o ce to check out our maps noting the hometowns of our racers. In 2024 we had racers from Japan, New Zealand, Germany, Denmark and Italy just to name a few, they truly are the “International Turtle Races.”

Turtle Fest June 18th-22nd.

Perham’s Turtle Fest is an annual summer celebration that showcases the town’s community spirit, rich culture, and its famous love for turtles! e festival will be held this year from June 18th-22nd, and features several days of family-friendly events, live entertainment, and exciting activities for locals and visitors alike. Key highlights include Turtle Races on Wednesday and Friday, Friday’s Grand Parade and Saturday’s Fireworks display. roughout the weekend you’ll also nd a street fair, live music at various locations, a 5k fun run, a pickleball tournament and so many more activities for the whole family to discover.

the GOLF OUTDOORS

Hit the links in the lakes area. Whether you are looking for a challenge or a chuckle, the golf courses in our area make for a full day of fun during your getaway.

e Lakeside Golf Course was designed to weave throughout wooded areas and along Paul Miller Park and Little Pine Lake.

On this course, you’ll be challenged to 27 holes of championship golf & a rst-class practice facility await you. e Oak, Maple, and Pine courses all boast beautiful fairways, scenic natural wetlands, and owing elevation changes as you hit approaches into fast, undulating greens.

Is the weather not cooperating with your plans to hit the range? Reserve the indoor golf simulator at e Cactus located just outside of Perham on Fort under Road.

e City of Perham boasts over 215 acres of Community and Neighborhood Park space, 201.77 acres of that is Arvig Park. At Arvig Park you’ll nd a 3+mile loop paved bike path, KLN Pickleball courts, the Wardale dog park, disc golf course, a skateboard park, sand volleyball courts, so ball & baseball diamonds, soccer elds, playground equipment, picnic shelter and restrooms.

e newly completed Heart of the Lakes Trail provides a trail connection between Perham and Pelican Rapids through Maplewood State Park along side many of our area lakes.

e trail is open for public use and is intended for use by walkers, joggers, hikers, bicyclists, dog walkers, inline skating and more.
