As we emerge, albeit slowly, from the coronavirus pandemic during which many businesses have simply been striving to survive, the next step is likely to become one of growth.

Globally, numerous bodies and institutions are wanting to offer help in bringing the economy up to full speed again and ensuring that it becomes even stronger as we enter the ‘new norm’.

Whiting & Partners has many years of experience in the building and construction industry with numerous clients across the sector and we welcome the Construction Leadership Council’s launch of their Talent Retention Scheme. This is aimed specifically at supporting recruitment in construction, engineering and building services.

In reality, it’s an online portal capable of handling all recruitment needs. Businesses that register for the portal will receive access to a dedicated resourcing and talent management platform to assist with recruitment and skills development activities across all sectors of construction.

Businesses will be able to use the platform to search for and recruit staff, as well as promote an unlimited number of vacancies, and it allows for direct communication between the business and potential candidates. There are also plans for tailored company pages and microsites which give an added marketing benefit!

Therefore, whether you’re looking to replace staff who were sadly made redundant during the pandemic, to recruit new staff to cope with a backlog of work following the lockdown, or simply to push forward with planned growth, the platform is a useful tool. The best part is that, due to Government backing, all services of the Talent Retention Scheme are initially free until April 2021!
