hat a momentous few days we’re about to witness as June arrives and all eyes will be fixed on Her Majesty the Queen.

Hopefully, the weather will be kind, for everyone to enjoy the spectacular range of activities and events which will be offered to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee.

Inside Highlights

The Yaxley Festival in May turned out to be a really enjoyable weekend, as we supported the Young Technicians Academy which offers valuable training in the live events industry, and which has made such good progress since opening last year.

Finally, love and Happy Father’s Day greetings go to my dad, Bill; father-in-law, Rich; and husband, Chris.

This month will be dominated by celebrations surrounding Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Countless events have been planned for the occasion, both locally and nationally, and of course an extra Bank Holiday has been added to the calendar to mark this landmark.

Whatever your political persuasion and feelings about the monarchy in general, there’s no doubt HM the Queen deserves maximum respect for devoting her life to the service of the country.

The Queen has been the figurehead of the country for the past seventy years with most of the population being born during her long and illustrious reign, so let’s mark this historic occasion in the right way and unite to celebrate the second Elizabethan age…

fter her successful shop share in Ramsey, Caroline’s dream of owning a sewing shop has finally come true.

The town-centre shop not only has an everexpanding selection of fabrics, wools and patterns, but also a selection of hand-made clothing for both children and adults.

The children’s clothes – ‘Made to Play’ – are wellpriced and unique. Something you fancy from the adult section, but perhaps it is in the wrong size or colour? Caroline will take bespoke orders to create the piece of your dreams.

“I love fabric, and I love clothes,” said Caroline. “I believe that everyone should be able to sew, and it is a gift to be able to teach others. It’s all about gaining confidence, building a rapport between teacher and learner, and having a bit of a laugh!

There’s no substitute for that one-to-one help.”

Caroline offers basic classes, for a top, a skirt or a dress, and also courses where you can learn to make items such as tote bags or cushion covers, helping to build those vital basic skills and confidence. Other future courses include patchworking, crochet, macrame, and hand applique. Over the summer, Caroline is excited to run an eco-day, where you can bring in an old item for re-purposing, and a children’s day, teaching the future generation the basics.

T

he bunting has arrived and we are getting ready for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

We’ve got lots planned from delicious afternoon teas available to book on Thursday, June 2nd and Saturday, June 4th, to a special seniors’ lunch on Wednesday, June 1st and a fun-packed full day event on Friday, June 3rd with our Jubilee Garden Party and BBQ.

The chefs are planning a feast on Sunday, June 5th and throughout the month using seasonal courgettes and broad beans are just around the corner, with asparagus in full swing.

We had our first-ever car boot sale in May, with future sales now planned for the first and last Sunday of the month. Come along and either sell or browse – sellers prices start at £7 per car. Buyers are free. All information is available on our website www.harvestbarn.co.uk

There will be lots to see and do including an inflatable assault course, live DJ, craft stalls, face painting, balloon modelling, sweet treats, traditional games and BING the Bunny up to no good all day! It’ll be a fun packed day to come along and have a BBQ or a picnic. Entry is completely free running from 10am-4pm.

The goats will be on their best behaviour and waiting to say hello to everyone as always. We have lots of birthday parties planned in for June and the goats love the Meet and Greet we offer as part of a party package – yes we can take children in to meet the animals, brush them, feed them and learn all about how to look after them – or just try and get them off the chairs that the children are supposed to be sitting on which is what usually happens!

The business was launched last September by 21-year-old Whittlesey chef Natalie Lindsey who offers a mouth-watering selection of goodies including cupcakes, brownies, cookies in fact, anything you can bake!

She said: “I bake all sorts of things from small individual cakes to large celebration cakes. I really love what I do, both the baking and seeing how happy my work makes people.”

Natalie, a fully qualified chef who studied at Peterborough Regional College, boasts a Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety rating, and has a-5-star award in Food Hygiene.

She said: “After studying catering at college, I did restaurant work but I really wanted to set up my own business.

So far it has gone really well, Easter and Mother’s Day were particularly busy, and I am now planning for Father’s Day on June 19th.”

Recipe

The Great British

Cheesecake

Ingredients Serves 8 175g digestive biscuits, crushed 75g butter, melted 397g condensed milk 300g cream cheese 2 lemons, juiced 200g mixed berries to decorate – strawberries, raspberries and blueberries work perfectly!

You'll also need a 20cm (8 inch) loose-bottomed cake tin

An easy-to-make centrepiece for your Jubilee celebration!

Method

• Tip the digestive crumbs into a bowl, add the melted butter and mix in. Spoon the crumbs into the tin and press down. Place in the fridge to chill for 10 minutes.

• Pour the condensed milk into a large bowl. Add the cream cheese and whisk together. Mix in the lemon juice then pour the mixture into the tin. Chill for 2-4 hours or until set.

• To serve, take the cheesecake out of the tin and place onto a plate. Decorate with the berries in the style of a Union Jack before serving.

Multi award-winning Titanic Brewery was established during 1985 in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

heir first beer brewed was named Titanic Premium.

This beer is continued today, with the name changed to ANCHOR (4.1% vol) and is very popular with many beer drinkers.

CAPPUCCINO STOUT (4.5% vol) has a good aroma of coffee, which follows through to the flavour admirably. CHOCOLATE & VANILLA STOUT (4.5% vol) has chocolate and vanilla scents, leading enticingly to the smooth, creamy taste. WHITE STAR (4.5% vol) I found to be golden and

crisp, with an excellent aroma, evoking thoughts of honey and hops. An excellent fruity, malty ale. RASPBERRY PALE (4.7% vol) has raspberries on the nose, then a light, fresh mouthfeel and palate sensation. PLUM PORTER (4.9% vol) is deep red, with plum flavours in abundance – splendid! CAPTAIN SMITHS (5.2% vol) is traditional, malty, and strong – a firm favourite.

Whittlesey Rotary Club hosted celebrated speaker John Hope to entertain members and guests with a talk about his life.

Starting out in the RAF, he served in Malta, Borneo and Malaya before entering Civvy Street and working in sales for Heinz and Hertz. He then set up a number of businesses including one in Whittlesey in the 1970s.

Always keen on sport, John took an interest in the Paralympics which led him to become a coach in disabled bowls called Boccia.

ROYAL BRITISH LEGION SERVICES The Whittlesey branch of the Royal British Legion will be holding a short service at the War Memorial on Tuesday, June 14th at 11am to commemorate the fortieth anniversary of the Falklands War. MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR First of all, may I thank everyone who supported the Mayor's Duck Race at The Bower on Easter Monday. The weather held firm and I was delighted at the large numbers that turned up to join in the excitement. My special thanks to the Cambridgeshire Fire Service and St John Ambulance for their respective services which were given freely and to all the stewards and ticket sellers. All proceeds from the event will go to my nominated charities for the year with my grateful thanks to you all.

We are rapidly approaching Her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations; details of events locally have been published widely previously and I look forward to a wonderful weekend of celebration to honour the Queen who having reigned impeccably for seventy years is for most of us the only monarch that we have ever known.

Thursday, May 19th was the date set for Whittlesey Town Council's annual meeting when the Mayor and Deputy Mayor for the coming year were to be confirmed so on reading this article you may well know who those respective persons are.

For my part, I would like to thank everyone who has supported me during my past two years as Mayor. It has been indeed an honour and privilege to have represented the town in my civic role as Mayor and in my administrative role as leader of the council.

I would like to make special mention of my town clerk, Mrs Sue Piergianni, who has worked tirelessly as always for the town council, and I am sure many of you have benefitted from her advice when you have visited Peel House for assistance. My thanks also to my wife, Ann, for keeping an immaculate diary and making sure that I appeared at the right time and in the right place as well as accompanying me at numerous events during the past two years.

PROMS NIGHT RAISES CASH FOR FORCES’ CHARITY Whittlesey Indoor Bowls Club has hosted a Last Night of the Proms with the City of Peterborough Concert Band conducted by Henry Clydesdale providing the entertainment.

Proceeds from the night will go towards supporting local good causes as well as the Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA).

What beautiful weather we’ve been having, and I’m sure you have been spending more time in the garden or on your patio, enjoying it and planning what you’ll be doing there over the next few months.

Making The Outside a More Usable and Safer Place:

MY FAVOURITE TIPS

Lighting

●

Make sure that there is enough lighting outside so that you can stay outside for as long as you want to. It can be functional lighting or feature lighting.

We have many different lighting options explained on our website, and if you are not sure which type of lighting may work for you, just request a visit from one of our engineers who will discuss your options.

Sockets Outside sockets present different possibilities for everyone, but installing an outside socket makes your installation far more convenient, whilst knowing that you’re not trailing cables through the house. ●

You may have an electric mower or other garden tools which you can plug in.

You may have a caravan that you like to power.

●

You may use an electric barbecue.

●

You may have an outside bar and you use an ice-making machine or blender/juicer.

●

You may be a DIY fan and need the power for using your tools.

●

You may like pressure washing and vacuuming your car.

Domestic

It may be that you enjoy sport and would like to take the television outside when the action is on. (Anyone for Wimbledon in the sunshine?)

Outhouse shed power

Hot tubs

If you are in serious need of some “downtime” or have pain that is remedied by soaking in warm water, a hot tub can be a worthwhile addition. Hot tubs have specific requirements so should always be installed by a qualified and registered electrician.

Heating

Plan for the future and make sure that you have heating around your hot tub or in areas that you like to sit, so that when it’s a bit cooler, but still dry, you can still use your garden. Patio heaters can allow you to use your patio and decking areas comfortably.

A MONTH OF LOCAL LANDMARKS

F

amily businesses are a key part of our local economy, and seventy years of trading is worthy of celebration. So, it was a pleasure to join one of our area’s leading agricultural businesses, family-run, Dalton Seeds, and in particular Peter Fox and Mathew Dalton and their team, to mark this landmark.

homeless and, thanks to great work by the Ferry Project, he has rebuilt his life working through their services from volunteering to employment and finally becoming the manager of Jubilee Place. It will make such a difference to those facing hard times to be able to speak to John and get support knowing he understands their issues first-hand.

Another business expanding and attracting new talent is high precision engineering firm PCML, which has a head office in March alongside operations on five Cambridgeshire sites. I heard about how they played a key role during the pandemic in the ventilator challenge and are now well placed to take advantage of the growing funding for NHS diagnostic equipment as we deal with COVID backlogs.

I’m pleased to see the £5 million full fibre network rollout by CityFibre that will allow access to fast, reliable broadband is progressing well in March and is on track for the first homes to go live later this year. Much of the work that involves digging past homes in the south-east of the town is now complete and workers have moved into new areas. CityFibre’s new futureproof network means residents and businesses will be able to access Gigabit-speed broadband from a choice of Internet Service Providers. I’m delighted that planning is also underway to look at Whittlesey later in the year.

Regular readers will know a personal priority of mine is promoting school literacy, including with our annual Read to Succeed campaign. So, it was fantastic to learn that Benwick Primary School was one of just six schools in the country to have received a new children’s book library worth £20,000 and including one thousand new books. I joined the children for an inspiring talk and animation drawing masterclass by Cressida Cowell, author of the book series How to Train Your Dragon, a favourite of my children. It was a real joy to see the fun students are getting from experiencing their new library of books and discovering new authors.

I also recently joined pupils at Wisbech St Mary’s School Environmental Savers Club to help plant trees as part of the Queen’s Jubilee Green Canopy Project. Donated by The Woodland Trust, each tree has a tag with a number on it, so the 208 pupils feel they have ‘their’ own tree, which in the years to come will help them remember this scheme and their specific tree.

I have updated you many times on my campaign against proposals to build an enormous incinerator in Wisbech. Despite the objections of the community, the developer has persisted in progressing its proposals, although it is still at pre-application stage.

However, the developer has previously said he would be submitting his twice-delayed application for development consent to the Planning Inspectorate in Q2 2022. I wanted to reassure residents I will be keeping a close eye on developments. If an application is made, the Planning Inspectorate has up to twentyeight days to decide whether the application meets the standards required to be accepted for examination. As previously stated, I am concerned that the developer has not complied with the required consultation process with a failure to provide key information to the community. I remain convinced this proposal is wholly unsuitable and will continue to fight against it on behalf of constituents.

• Hoe regularly and particularly when the soil is dry as the severed and exposed roots will die quickly. If you hoe when the soil is damp, remove the remains so that they won’t re-grow.

• Spread mulches such as garden compost, well-rotted manure, or bark chips, to suppress weeds or use lightproof membrane to kill more established weeds.

• Make sure that you don’t let weeds flower, you will only get new crops of weeds from their seeds.

Garden pests can have a devastating effect on crops and, with the latest concerns over chemical pest control, an interesting alternative is using food-grade “diatomaceous earth”, good for slugs and other pests as it dehydrates them. It is also your last opportunity for sowing runner beans and main crop carrots. Sweetcorn can be planted out and as it is self-pollinating it is better sown closely in a block. Mark out a square

Other jobs include: • Plant out vegetables that you have grown from seed but make sure you harden them off before planting out in their final position.

• Thin out seedlings and plant others in their final growing positions.

• Earth up potatoes and, towards the end of the month, harvest earlies.

• Protect strawberries by mulching around them with straw to keep mud splashes off, and keep birds off your ripening strawberry crop by covering your plants with netting.

• Cut down broad beans and peas just above the surface and use for compost but leave the roots in the ground as a useful source of nitrogen.

• Feed tomatoes with a high potash feed.

• Once you are sure that frosts are over, you can plant out the more tender crops such as aubergines, peppers, chillies, courgettes, marrows, and squashes.

• Sow Florence fennel, traditionally after the ‘longest day’, June 21st, as it is less likely to bolt – sowing in succession is a good idea.

• Protect carrots with insect proof netting and net brassicas to deter pigeons.

So maybe the answer might lie in communities working together, simplifying recipes and using ingredients closer to home and in season?

W

hile my knowledge and experience in what used to be called domestic science (when I went to school) are limited, the logic of working within a budget is something I know a bit about.

I see cooking programmes and recipes that totally ignore the cost or complexity of simple catering. Ingredients from faraway places replace the ‘in season’ alternatives and the list of ‘must have’ ingredients that certain well-known chefs recommend is beyond many household budgets, not to mention encouraging waste (in my opinion).

In contrast, I have had conversations with people concerned about the rising cost of ordinary staples such as flour and cooking oil because Ukraine is one of the world’s biggest exporters of wheat, corn and sunflower oil.

So, what are we to do? Some suggest more homegrown produce, but that might be for future growing seasons. Reducing reliance on some ingredients is a challenge but we have the knowledge and skills to shift dependence on things that could put pressure on our budgets.

Buying co-operatives have sprung up recently

I seldom buy commercially made sandwiches, but the British Sandwich Association (yes, such an organisation exists) estimates eighty million are sold each year. One producer indicated that their range was to increase by 75p per sandwich due to the cost of ingredient inflation.

If the average cost now is £2 that is an increase of over thirty-five percent. Is it not within the realms of possibility to buy a loaf of bread and some delicious fillings to make enough for a week rather than ‘grab one’ on the way to work? Small changes in behaviour might reduce the impact on household budgets.

Why not talk to elders that may have gone through shortages and inflation? Surely, there are valuable lessons that can be passed down the generations. Then we can plan our finances for the future. If you look after the pennies – the pounds will look after themselves!

Young Technicians Academy Help to Make Yaxley Festival the Best Yet!

A

fter a two-year hiatus, brought on by the Covid pandemic restrictions, everyone in the area it seems was eager to make up for lost time, and 34,000 people made Yaxley’s Festival on May 13th to the 15th the best attended on record. Local politicians including Councillor Stephen Ferguson, Dr. Nik Johnson and Shailesh Vara MP, were amongst others in the official opening party which took place on the Young Technicians Academy Sally Rimes Stage.

The whole weekend turned out to be one enormous triumph for the Young Technicians Academy (YTA), from which many youngsters grabbed the opportunities of “putting into practice” much of the knowledge and many of the skills gleaned from their studies at their Yaxleybased, specialist educational facility, which trains students in all forms of the Performing Arts, Media, and Live Events industries.

In honour of the late Sally Rimes, a second performance stage bearing her name was introduced this year, to accommodate more stage acts than ever before. It was also to pay respects to the lady who passed away in October 2021 and who had been so instrumental

in the development of the YTA since its creation in 2016. Her two daughters and her sister were present to witness the opening of the “Sally Rimes Stage”.

The Yaxley Festival provides a vital opportunity for the students from the YTA to involve themselves in all the aspects surrounding the staging of a large-scale event – a “real-world opportunity to show their talents”, according to Business Development Manager, Harrison Fuller. The two bands comprising students from the “Academy of Rock” at the YTA, namely ‘Unit 11’ and ‘Stop, Drop and Roll’ both produced performances of a very high standard of musicianship, and were enthusiastically received, especially the latter on this, their debut gig.

Looking ahead, the ‘outreach’ element of the YTA has now been expanded to include primary schools and, working alongside “Festival Bridge”, they are bringing several pop-up festivals to school fields in our area this summer, including six of them within the Elliot Foundation Academies Trust.

Finally, there will be an ‘Open Day’ on Sunday, August 21st at the Academy if anyone would like to come down and see what the YTA is all about.

We all enjoy privacy when it comes to our garden, but what happens when overgrown trees or high hedges cause problems? Complaints of overhanging branches and conifers blocking out the light are all too common and may create ill feeling between neighbours. Try to resist taking matters into your own hands, so discuss the issue with your neighbour first.

Advice: 1) You have a common law right to cut back tree branches that overhang onto your property. The law states that any branches cut off belong to the person on whose land the tree originally grew, so you should ask your neighbour if they want them back, or if they are happy for you to dispose of them.

2) Don’t just throw trimmings back over the boundary – this could constitute 'fly tipping'.

3) When it comes to fruit on trees; even if they are 15:38 growing on branches which overhang your property, the fruit still belongs to your neighbour. You are therefore effectively stealing if you pick these for yourself without your neighbour’s permission.

4) Be careful to check if any trees are subject to a preservation order – your local authority will be able to tell you this. If you cut down a tree with a preservation order, you will be guilty of an offence.

5) A tree belongs to whoever owns the property upon which the tree trunk originally grows. The owner has a duty to maintain this tree so that it does not cause a hazard. Therefore, if branches are broken and hanging precariously, the owner should remove these.

6) If you choose to cut down overhanging branches, or trim trees, you will have to pay for the cost of doing so yourself. Try speaking to your neighbour, however, as you may be able to reach some sort of agreement in relation to any gardening work required, though they are not obliged to contribute to this cost.

Matters LEARNING ABOUT CAM SIGHT

Representatives from Cam Sight gave an enlightening talk to Coates WI members on its involvement in assisting partially sighted and blind people in the community – volunteers are always needed and welcome.

The group’s next meeting was due to be held on June 1st featuring Nick Oakhill from Fen Pallet Art, with celebrations also being held for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Guests and new members are always welcome to join the group which meets on the first Wednesday of the month (no meeting January) at Coates Village Hall at 7.30pm.

CELEBRATE THE FENS DAY ‘Celebrate the Fens Day’ returns this year on Saturday, June 18th and will form part of ‘Celebrate the Fens Weekend’ on June 17th-19th.

The aim is to bring people together to take part in various events and activities taking place across the Fens of Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Lincolnshire and Suffolk, to celebrate everything about the Fens.

The celebration was created by Fascinating Fens, who believe in bringing people together to explore and promote the Fens through creativity, heritage, nature, wellbeing and accessibility.

Walking for Wellness

We all know that walking is healthy for our bodies, but have you ever considered the impact it also has on our mind? Walking has been proven to boost our mental health – here are a few reasons why…

Exercise releases endorphins. Endorphins are a neurochemical that improve mental health, and make us feel good.

Other activities that can boost endorphin levels are laughing and eating chocolate!

A sense of accomplishment. If you can’t face walking miles, just try going to the end of the road. Doing just a tiny bit is better than doing none at all. I, personally, am not a morning person!

I sometimes have to drag myself out to walk my dog, but even if I just go round the block, I feel so much better for it afterwards!

Walking alone can be very mindful.

I often go for a walk on my own after a day of work. It gives me time to process my day, and have that separation between work and home, which so many of us who now work from home miss out on.

Sometimes I like to notice the birds singing, or the wind in the trees, and other times I enjoy blasting my favourite music on my headphones!

Walking can also be sociable!

Do you ever find that it’s easier to talk to someone when you’re sitting next to each other in the car, or walking side by side? That’s because without intense eye contact, we often find it easier to talk about things that we may otherwise find difficult.

Last month, I wrote about Mental Health Awareness Week 2022 and its theme of Loneliness. To continue, I would love to invite all of you to a new walking group starting in Bourne. Happy Feet Walk and Talk Group will be meeting on Thursdays at 12pm in South Street Car Park for a walk around Wellhead Park, ending at a café for those who wish to stay and chat afterwards. All are welcome, including children and dogs. Routes will be accessible, and the car park is free. This is not a substitute for professional therapy, but is a warm and welcoming group of people who are passionate about mental wellbeing and building connections within the community.

ENERGY REBATE FOR RESIDENTS Fenland Council taxpayers have begun to receive their £150 energy rebate to help with the impact of rising energy costs, with the first payments landing in bank accounts.

Fenland District Council has been rolling out the Council Tax rebate scheme to households across the district, after the Government announced it would be funding the support package in February.

Households in Council Tax bands A-D which were liable for Council Tax on April 1st, 2022 are eligible for the one-off payment, including those who receive Council Tax support and certain exempt dwellings. The rebate does not have to be repaid.

DAVID MASON RE-ELECTED TOWN MAYOR… AND PRESENTS CHEQUES TO CHARITIES The annual meeting of the Whittlesey Town Council elected Cllr David Mason as Mayor and leader of the council for a third year and Cllr Dr Haq Nawaz as Deputy Mayor and deputy leader of the Council.

Cllr David Mason presented cheques to his three Mayor's good causes. Whittlesey Community Car Scheme, Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall and Whittlesey Sports Association each received £1000 towards their good work. The photo shows the Mayor and Mayoress with the recipients.

PUPILS DEMONSTRATE THEIR FOOTBALLING SKILLS Eight primary school teams took part in a a football festival at Sir Harry Smith Community College.

Four teams from Park Lane, and two each from New Road and Alderman Jacobs, showed their silky skills in front of an appreciative crowd of parents and staff. Each player received a participation medal.

Paul and Jordan Gill: launched Jordan Gill Next Generation

JORDAN FIGHTS FOR PROJECT HOME Plans to expand a successful community youth project by Fenland’s very own European Featherweight Boxing Champion, Jordan Gill, are gathering pace.

The Chatteris boxer, who sensationally knocked out former European champ, Karim Guerfi in February to take home the belt, set up his Jordan Gill Next Generation foundation in 2019 to inspire, motivate and positively impact the next generation through boxing.

The not-for-profit venture already delivers numerous sessions at schools and community centres across Fenland and partners, including Fenland District Council and Cambridgeshire County Council, are working with them to find a suitable venue in the district for a permanent Next Generation facility, where even more activities can be delivered.

Jordan, who is also WBA International Featherweight Champion and has won 27 of 28 professional fights, said: “The foundation isn’t just about boxing.

It’s about building kids’ self-esteem, building communication skills, playing games, teaching discipline and respect, building aspirations, and supporting them to follow their dreams.”

SWEEPING CLEAN AND CELEBRATING THE QUEEN

As you read this, you are probably surrounded by reminders of the Queen’s 70th Platinum Jubilee, a celebration that has never before been seen and none of us are likely to experience again.

In 1952 Princess Elizabeth became Queen at the unexpectedly early age of twenty-five and vowed to serve her country and preserve the true profession of the Gospel for the rest of her life. In the bible, a jubilee meant that the figurative ‘slate’ was wiped clean, with sins being forgiven, debts being cancelled and slaves being set free.

Within our church we are ‘sweeping clean’ and the paintbrushes are being wielded to freshen up our meeting place as we open up fully after the restrictions of COVID. All our weekly meetings are back in full force, including Little Angels and Sing and Sign (mums and tots) on a Tuesday, Bat & Chat (table tennis for all ages) on a Thursday and the newly re-named T@23 (Formerly Pastimes – now open to all aged eighteen+) on a Wednesday. T@23 especially, will be marking

the Jubilee – no doubt with even more delicious cakes than usual! As a consequence of all this activity, we are no longer able to store and rehome clothing and furniture. If you have any such items, why not try one of the several charity shops in our town who will be pleased to accept your donations? WEFA – Whittlesey Emergency Food Aid – continues to operate from the cabin behind the church premises until larger facilities are ready.

It is still faithfully co-ordinated by Sue and Joe Jennings. You can contact Sue directly with any requests or offers of help on 07357 143146 So, as we remember the seventy years of service that our Queen has dedicated to our country, and the obvious strength she has gained from her Christian faith, maybe we should take time to personally consider a metaphorical clean sweep of any presumptions and attitudes that could be holding us back from living our lives to its fullest extent.

There is a freedom in letting go of the past and looking forward to a bright future.

You will be made most welcome if you join us any Sunday morning at 10.45am, where you can take a fresh look at the hope we have found in Jesus.
