TOURS See page 15 to find out how to see the Halifax Region through the eyes of a local guide.

GETTING AROUND ON FOOT Downtown Halifax and Downtown Dartmouth are highly walkable areas, and while our harbour city has many hills, the city’s main urban centres are quite compact! LOCAL TIP: Walk across the Halifax harbour! There is no toll to walk or cycle across the Macdonald Bridge.

PARKING IN HALIFAX

As of October 2020, Halifax has replaced its individual parking meters with a payby-plate, pay-by-zone system using new on-street pay stations.

BY CAR

BY BUS Halifax Transit offers reliable bus service throughout the Halifax Region. Find fares, schedules, routes and ferry service. Kids under 12 ride free! | halifax.ca/transportation

BY FERRY Halifax Transit offers two ferry services: the Alderney Ferry service crosses from Halifax to Alderney Landing in Downtown Dartmouth and the Woodside Ferry service crosses from Halifax to Woodside. Ferry service is integrated with the bus service, which means that you can use a transfer to board both ferries and buses!

HOW TO PAY FOR ON-STREET PARKING

Once parked, find your nearest pay station. You can pay using coins, debit, credit, Apple Pay or using the HotSpot app on your mobile device. Learn more at halifax.ca/transportation/parking/parking-changing
