From Wikipedia: “As a philosopher and novelist, Ibn Tufail is most famous for writing the first philosophical novel, Hayy ibn Yaqdhan (The Living Son of the Vigilant), considered a major work of Arabic literature emerging from Al-Andalus. Names by which the book is also known include the Latin: Philosophus Autodidactus ('The Self-Taught Philosopher'); and English: The Improvement of Human Reason ” It is a Sufi allegorical tale first written in the early 12th century, about a young boy who grows up without the presence of humans.
