Being a record of the acts and sayings of Jesus of Nazareth drawn from uninspired sources. From the Preface: ‘’From the introduction the reader will see how large the acanonical material is. For the sake of system we have arranged the whole into four parts. The first two, comprising the life of Christ, from his birth to the resurrection and ascension, are mainly based upon the co-called apocryphal gospels. The third part comprises miscellaneous records pertaining to Jesus, and contains also the newly discovered fragment of the gospel of Peter. The fourth part contains the ‘Sayings of Jesus’, derived from lost gospels, patristic literature, the Talmud, and includes also the newly discovered Logia, edited by Grenfell and Hunt in 1897.
