n Thursday, 13th October, at the Royal Palace in Casablanca, His Majesty the King Mohammed VI appointed 65 new Ambassadors in the diplomatic missions of the Kingdom to several capitals, as well as four new Ambassadors to the Central Administration (MFA). These new appointments are part of the most important large movement carried out under the reign of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI and which aims to impart a new dynamic to Moroccan diplomacy in order to thereby consolidate the achievements and maintain its reputation. A prominent feature of these new appointments is the strong presence of women as demonstrated by the appointment of 13 female Ambassadors, a strong signal which is a reflection of the importance of the role of the Moroccan woman in diplomatic activities. Among the diplomats is Lalla Joumala Alaoui, appointed as Ambassador to the United States of America, and the first female Ambassador from Morocco to Washington. The list also includes Madams Latifa Akharbach, Ambassador to Tunisia, Oumama Aouad to Panama, Saadia Alaoui to Angola, Nezha

Alaoui Mhamedi to Ethiopia and Djibouti, Nour El Houda Marrakchi to Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina and Zakia El Midaoui to Bulgaria and Macedonia. This list also includes Madams Farida Louadaya, appointed as Ambassador to Colombia and Ecuador, Karima Kabbaj to Hungary, Lamiae Radi to Norway and Iceland, Khadija Rouissi to Denmark and Lithuania, Kenza El Ghali to Chile and Amina Bouayach to Sweden and Latvia. Among the new Ambassadors is the human rights activist and ex-president of the Advisory Council on Human Rights, Ahmed Herzni, who was appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador of His Majesty the King. This choice has demonstrated the importance of Human Rights considerations in the general policy of Morocco. Naturally, this list has the names of numerous senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, such as Rachad Bouhlal, who was appointed as Ambassador to Japan; Ménouar Alem to Turkey; Lahcen Azoulay to Switzerland and Lichtenstein; Mohamed Maliki to India, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Buthan and Nepal; Karim Medrek, Ambassador to Australia, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Fiji, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Tuvalu.

Also, Moha Ouali Tagma was appointed as Ambassador to Nigeria, Abdeljalil Saubry to Kazhakstan, Tajikistan and Kirghizstan; Mohamed Réda El Fassi to the Philippines and Micronesia; Lahcen Abdelkhalek to Algeria; Hassan Hami to Iran; Abdelilah Benryane to Tanzania and Uganda; Mohamed Lofti Aouad to Canada; Nabil Adgoghi to Brazil, Suriname and Guyana; Ahmed Tazi to Egypt, Mohamed Amine Belhaj to Serbia and Montenegro; Azeddine Fahrane to Vietnam; Abdellatif Errouja to Chad,... These appointments to the five continents reflect the will to diversify and expand the strategic alliances of the Kingdom. Subsequently, the new Ambassadors took oaths before the Sovereign, as well as the new Ambassadors to the Central Administration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and cooperation. They are: Ahmed Herzni, the Goodwill Ambassador of His Majesty the King; Mohamed Ali Lazreq, Ambassador, Secretary General; Mohamed Basri, Ambassador, Director of Consular and Social Affairs and Mohamed Methqal, Ambassador, Director General of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation.
