March 2014, Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, President Director General of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of Romania was invited for an official visit to the State of Qatar, on the occasion of the 11 Interconfessional Dialogue Conference held in Doha,″

Between 24-28 March 2014, Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, President Director-General of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of Romania was invited for an official visit to the State of Qatar, on the occasion of the 11 Inter-confessional Dialogue Conference held in Doha. During the conference works Professor Dr. Anton Caragea held a key note speech on the issues related to the role of youth in promoting interfaith dialogue and inter-religion understanding and chaired a round table on the ways and ideas to foster dialogue and inter-civilization dialogue. On the occasion of his visit to the State of Qatar, Professor Dr. Anton Caragea held a number of meetings, destined to promote the mutual god understanding and the Qatar-Romania cooperation. During the meetings a dialogue was held with the management of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the State of Museum of Islamic Art of Doha: a center of Qatar where issues such as: economic opcultural activity on the Gulf area. portunities offered by Romanian market, investments in tourism industry of Romania and the necessity to open a Qatari bank in Romania where discussed. An ample and far reaching dialogue was held with the Chairman of National Television of Qatar-Sheik Abdulaziz Thani Al-Thani. During the meeting where tabled issues such as: exchange of cultural programs, television productions, promoting the image of the State of Qatar in the Romanian mass media and the opportunities to confer the BEST CULTURAL TELEVISION title for Qatar National Television. The productive and extensive dialogue had continued at the headquarters of National News Agency of Qatar with General Director Mr. Ahmed Saad Alboainin and his team. The visit was destined to restart the bilateral relation between Romania and the Republic of Zimbabwe and the southern region of Africa, a region in full economic development and with a long tradition of partnership with our country.″

ROMANIAN HIGH LEVEL DELEGATION VISITS ZIMBABWE In the period between 29 May-7 June 2014, a Romanian delegation headed by H.E. Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, President Director-General (PDG) of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of Romania was invited for an official visit to the Republic of Zimbabwe. The visit was destined to restart the bilateral relation between Romania and the Republic of Zimbabwe and the southern region of Africa, a region in full economic development and with a long tradition of partnership with our country. We must also mention that this visit was the first of a Romanian high level delegation to Africa after the December 1989 revolution., a sign of rebuilding friendship and cooperation agreements. During the visit Professor Dr. Anton Caragea was welcomed by H.E. President of Republic of Zimbabwe-Robert Gabriel Mugabe who stated that: is exuding with love and gratitude for the visit of Professor Dr. Anton Caragea. President Robert Mugabe express his gratitude for Professor Dr. Anton Caragea continuous support in promoting Zimbabwe integration in international tourism arena and stated than: when others where plotting to punish us you think at rewarding us and make us friends. Professor Dr. Anton Caragea at his turn praised president Mugabe stating that: the world did not forget the ten years spent in the dungeons of the colonial rule, the world did not forget the 20 years of revolutionary activity at the risk of the life and personal peace, spent in the opposition to the absurd regime of apartheid and segregation of Old time Rhodesia.

In sign of honor Professor Dr. Anton Caragea occupied the Winston Churchill apartment in the famous Victorian hotel of Victoria Falls. The high level visit, the first after a 25 year hiatus in bilateral relation offered to the parties the opportunity to table concrete cultural, tourism and cooperation projects and to highlight the bilateral support for the development of the social and political cooperation. The Republic of Zimbabwe becomes now the main political and strategic partner in the region of southern Africa, offering innumerable opportunities for developing friendly ties.

ROMANIA – NIGERIA RELATIONS TABLED IN A BILATERAL MEETING On 30 January 2014, the taking office, protocol and presentation meeting between Prof. Dr. Anton Caragea, President-Director General (PDG) of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation and H.E. Okechukwu F. Muoh, Ambassador of Federal Republic of Nigeria in Romania had taken place. Prof. Dr. Anton Caragea express his heart felted congratulation on the occasion of beginning of mandate of Mr. Okechukwu F. Muoh, appreciating that between Romanian and Nigeria there is a long and positive history of cultural, economic and political cooperation and a large area of common interests , designed to forge a good understanding between the two nations . H.E. Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, President Director General of The Romania- Nigeria Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation and relationship needs an H.E..Okechukwu F. Muoh, Ambassador of Federal Republic of overhaul and a rapid Nigeria in Romania intensification in the field of economic and cultural exchange areas, creating a better perception of Nigeria in Romanian society, remarked Professor Anton Caragea. A delegation comprising members of parliament, business representatives and academicians under the leadership of H.E. Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, President of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation held a dialogue with H.E. Kim Son Gyong, Ambassador of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on the topics of expending cultural, economic and diplomatic cooperation between Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and Romania. In the opening of 12 April 2014 meeting H.E. Kim Son Gyong, Ambassador of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea had made an exhaustive presentation of the political, cultural and economic developments in his country, presented also plans for future economic constructions in his country and of his country cooperation with all the nations of the world and intensive development of cultural relations. Professor Dr. Anton Caragea had conveyed on behalf of Romanian delegation his massage of congratulation for the recent elections held in Democratic People’s Republic of Korea for the election of Supreme People Assembly. On 6 March, 2014 a friendly and cooperation meeting between Prof. Dr. Anton Caragea, President of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation and H.E. Manuel Vieira, Ambassador of Oriental Republic of Uruguay had taken place. Prof. Dr. Anton Caragea expressed his amicable fillings and friendly interest towards the recent evolutions in the Oriental Republic of Uruguay. Uruguay is playing an instrumental role in promoting cultural and economic development in the South American area. Romania is witnessing, with sympathy and interest, the latest evolution from Uruguay, including the government measures for consolidating the economic development and creating a diversified economy and the decision to foster social inclusion and cultural development in the Oriental Republic of Uruguay. H.E. Ambassador Manuel Vieira expressed his appreciation for the encouragements received and for the amicable atmosphere registered amongst Romanian people towards the culture and civilization of Oriental Republic of Uruguay. Between the two nations there is an ample desire for information and cooperation and to amplify the bilateral relation stated Ambassador Manuel Vieira. On this solid foundation we can consider an extension of the cultural dimension of bilateral relation and in building new bridges of dialogue between Romania and Oriental Republic of Uruguay. The parties had appreciated that: between Romanian and Oriental Republic of Uruguay there is a large area of common interests, designed to forge a good understanding between the two nations. During the discussion where tabled important issues such as: opening of honorary consulates of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay in the major historical regions of Romania, a move deemed necessary to foster the diplomatic dialogue and the opening of a Bilateral Business Council to foster the commercial, trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. The dialogue had continued on concrete aspects and analyses of economic, political and cultural bilateral relations and on ways of fostering this dialogue on to the future. The discussion led the foundations for continuing the dialogue and fostering the relations between Romania and Oriental Republic of Uruguay.

ROMANIA-MONTENEGRO START UP DIALOGUE On 5 of March 2014 the taking office protocol and presentation meeting between Prof. Dr. Anton Caragea, President of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation and H.E. Milan Begovic, Ambassador of Montenegro in Romania had taken place. Prof.Dr.Anton Caragea express his heart felted congratulation on the occasion of beginning of mandate of H.E Milan Begovic and for the opening of Montenegro Embassy in Romania, appreciating that between Romanian and Montenegro there is a long history of economic and political cooperation and a large area of common interests , designed to forge a good understanding between the two nations . H.E. Mr. Milan Begovic had expressed his appreciation for the encouragement`s offered by Prof.dr.Anton Caragea and had stated that the vision of a economic, politic and cultural special relationship between Romanian and Montenegro is a common shared vision. United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Lao PDR etc. The main core of the ceremony was the bestowing of BEST AMBASSADOR FOR 2013 recognition to H.E. Ambassador of Iraq- Omer Berzinji in sign of appreciation for his diplomatic efforts. The report, drafted by the academic and parliamentary committee of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation, had outlined the main reasons for this decision. OMER BERZINJI-BEST AMBASSADOR TO ROMANIA FOR 2013 DIPLOMATIC YEAR RECEPTION SPEECH AT ROMANIAN PARLIAMENT On 19 March 2014, at the CEREMONY FOR 2013 DIPLOMATIC PRIZES, H.E. Ambassador of Iraq-Omer Berzinji received the title of BEST AMBASSADOR FOR 2013 according to the decision of Academic and Parliamentary Committee of Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation. The main election criteria`s where highlighted as being: the promotion activity, the internal recognition inside Romania of the personality of the ambassador, the importance of bilateral relations and the relevance and significance of the bilateral activity, initiated under the leadership of the ambassador etc. Taking under considerations all the criteria`s, in unanimity, the academic and parliamentary committee has decided to recommend as BEST AMBASSADOR FOR 2013 the name of

H.E. Omer Berzinji-Iraq Ambassador to Romania. The parliamentary and academic committee has considered the powerful role played by Ambassador Omer Berzinji in achieving the successful visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq-H.E. Hoshyar Zebari, in October 2013, the successful cooperation visit of the first ever delegation of foreign affairs department of Government of Kurdistan, under the leadership of Mr. Falah Mustafa Bakir, the brisk and vigorous increase in the number of economic, politic and cultural delegations from Iraq that toured Romania in the last year. Statistically speaking, the number of Iraqi delegation`s, in the last year, has surpassed the number of Iraqi official visits in the last ten years. Taking under considerations this outstanding achievements and to bolster the traditional Romanian-Iraqi friendship and to mark the increase interest of Romania in promoting further the bilateral relation, the academic and parliamentary committee decided to host in the Romanian Parliament the official ceremony of bestowing the title of BEST AMBASSADOR FOR 2013 to H.E. In the beginning I would like to express my sincere thanks and highest consideration to the Romanian Parliament, for their appreciation and for awarding me the prize of “Best Ambassador in Romania for 2013”.
