Involvement in sports is important for many reasons.

Reasons beyond trying to become a famous athlete or giving parents an opportunity to yell.

peers and opponents, and exercising sportsmanship, fairness and discipline. Development of these traits is important because they will not only be useful in sports, but also useful in life.

Along with character development, sports are also important for physical development. Sports help to keep children active thus helping to instill habits that will help to keep them healthier and reduce their risk of contracting several life-threatening diseases.

Dylan has demonstrated an understanding of the importance of these goals and his continued development is a testament to that fact. He practices regularly and plays hard. He is open to contributing in any way necessary, whether he is asked to play in defense, facilitate the offense, lead the offense or play goalie. And he is open to instruction and improvement. He has proven to be a good player and has tremendous potential for continuing to get better. {end}

and loves to compete at anything. He will try to beat you up the stairs, be the 1st to finish eating, out run friends in a race... you name it. And he absolutely hates to lose!

orn March 2, 2010, Dylan Adam Ferges is an intelligent 7 year old young man that resides in Perry Hall, Maryland. With a curly mohawk and prize winning smile, Dylan has been described as a spiritual and very silly person that enjoys laughing and being tickled. He likes to stay fashionable with clothes from the GAP and Jordan sneakers, and is althetic, competitive, tough, loving, and sensitive. He craves attention from his sister, loves to receive and give love from and to his family and is very much a Daddy’s boy.

This doesn’t stop him from trying to beat his dad and other family at games that they play, however, because he is very competive. Games such as Sorry!, Operation, or any other family games you can think of.

Aside from games that he plays with his family, Dylan likes to play with Legos and with his fidget spinner. He also enjoys watching games on TV. His favorite teams to watch include the Golden State Warriors led by Steph Curry, the Cleveland Cavaliers led by Lebron James, and the Baltimore Ravens. This is not surprising given the fact that out of all the interests in his life, Dylan’s love of sports, specifically Soccer, stands out, and is the main focus of this magazine. {end}

One of Dylan’s notable accomplishment is that he made it into the newspaper! He was pictured in the Baltimore Sun, a local newspaper, along with the Orioles Bird.

Life’s Necessities Dylan can’t live without three things: His two fingers that he falls asleep with in his mouth, and his soccer ball .

Dylan Ferges has been playing soccer since he was three years old, and has been in love with the game from the beginning. The origin of his love for soccer has always been a mystery, because noone in his family really played it before he became involved.

He began playing at an instructional level, then moved to recreational, and now he plays Club League in the U8 division. In the beginning, soccer

was primarily a sport to help Dylan remain active, but his father began noticing around the age of 5 that it had the potential to be much more. He was proving to be an above average player with the ability to score goals very easily. Upon moving him to the Club League level, he started out as the goalie. Despite not knowing much about the position, he demonstrated a natural ability and did very well.

He continues to grow and excel. The first game of 2017 soccer season, he scored three goals in a single game, leading his team to victory.

he game of soccer is clearly a favorite for Dylan, but truth be told, he is just an athletic, competitive individual that loves all sports including soccer, basketball, baseball, football, and even Fun Run races with classmates. He plays basketball for two different teams and has made the all-star team for his little league baseball squad.

His adventurous, competitive nature even leads him to engage in sports in his free time. He plays sports with his neighborhood friends ouside, and when indoors, he loves to jump off of a trampoline onto the couch. Not having anyone to play with or against doesnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t stop him, though. He is perfectly content using the couch as a passing buddy by kicking the ball against it.

Hard PracticE When people talk about great moments in sports, they typically talk about some great play that was successfully made.

Or some streak that was successfully maintained. Very rarely do you hear them talk about practice. The truth about success, however, is that it typically occurs where preparation meets opportunity. And preparation comes as a result of practice.

The greatest sporting successes are a result of players performing activities that they’ve performed hundreds of times in practice and simply found a good opportunity to implement those activities in a game time situation.

Many believe that if they try hard enough during the game that they will be great, but it doesn’t necessarily work that way. While hard work is critical to success, hard work is not synonymous with practice or preparation. Hard work relates to the effort that is put into something. Practice is the repeated performance of an activity over time in order to improve or maintain one’s proficiency in something. So if hard work only occurs during game time, a person’s skills are not likely to improve. In order for hard work to be effective, it must be applied first to practice and preparation. Dylan has recognized this and makes sure to work hard at practice.

Conditioning

Dylan and the team have a regular routine that involves a lot of conditioning exercises. This includes running and more.

Practice perfect Techniques and touches

Getting different touches on the ball helps to train the muscles and brain on how to control the ball and how the ball reacts to different surfaces of the foot. Dylan understands this and works on this part of his game.
