40 is an interesting age because you don’t see yourself as being different from who you were a few years ago, but you realize that the people that are actually the age that you feel like you still are, do see you differently.

40 is essentially an age where you haven’t been around long enough to be considered old, but you’ve been around a little too long to be considered extremely young. And with that, 40 may be the most significant milestone birthday of them all.

When you fit into neither the young or old category, you have the best of both worlds. You’ve gained a fair amount of wisdom that comes with getting older, yet you are still young and vibrant enough to enjoy it. You get to take stock of how you thought about things when you were 20, versus how you think about them now. This is significant because if you think about the world the same at 20 as you do at 40, then there’s a good chance that you’ve wasted 20 years of your life. You assess the plans that you made for your life when you were younger, and tweak them to make those plans more effective as you move on with the rest of your life. You are also more empowered because you have a better understanding of yourself and those around you.

So, 40 is a major milestone birthday worth celebrating and that’s what this magazine does.

Born February 4, 1977, Christine Johnson is a beautiful, grown woman that resides in Maryland with her husband (Dion Johnson), son (Dion Johnson Jr.) and daughter (Christione Johnson). She works for the city of Laurel in the Communications Department, and also functions as co-owner of a media company.

When she’s not working, Christine enjoys ---------------dancing in her church’s dance ministry, FAVORITE SHOWS & watching TV, reading, planning events MUSIC and hanging with friends. DOING HAIR

------------------Doing hair is a big part of Chrissy’s life. It is a hobby, a necessity and a source of some extra spending cash.

She typically does her own hair, and regularly braids both her son and daughter’s hair. Years ago, when her husband grew his hair out, she braided his as well. In addition, she does hair as a side gig for various friends and associates.

MEDIA COMPANY OWNER

-----------------------As part of a media company, she helps people publish and maintain control of their own content. One of the latest books that she helped to publish is a book entitled “Lesson’s Learned From My Homeschool Day” by Trina R. Ferguson.

When work is your hobby,

IS IT REALLY WORK?

The answer is, Yes. It is still work, but it beats doing something you don’t like. As a city of Laurel employee in the Communications department, Christine serves several functions. She works as a volunteer coordinator, admin, and an on-air personality for various public access TV news and human interest stories. She even hosted her own reoccurring program entitled “Service In Action” that highlighted local city volunteer programs. She also works as a passport agent.

Passport agents are the eyes and ears for the State Department when getting a passport. We could be helping these people on one of the worst days of their lives (having to travel to another country because a family member is sick, dying or has died) OR the best day of their lives (won a trip, received a trip, first time out of the country)!
