ATW repositioned for long-term success By Lex Turnel American Trailer Works is on the road and picking up speed. With the investment and guidance of Bain Capital, the dedication of our highly valued workforce and the strength and legacy of our collected business units, ATW is focused on the horizon.
Collectively, ATW brands handily own more than 30 percent of the trailer market. The next biggest player has barely 8 percent, the third place company has 1 percent and everyone else is comparatively very tiny. This provides numerous advantages and opportunities for ATW, its brands and our employees if we have the foresight and discipline to capitalize upon them. “There is a lot of work involved in integrating and transforming companies to optimize performance and the value offered to customers,” says Jeff Rey, CEO of ATW. “During the early phases of
this kind of transition it is natural for there to be some confusion and even doubt about the why’s and how’s. But by remaining focused on improving our customers’ ownership and buying experiences, the path becomes clearer. From our partners to our employees to our customers, that growing clarity and stability promise great days ahead.” That optimism is founded on numerous things that you can read about on the following pages, but at its simplest it is the collective strength of our brands and workforce and a commitment to modernizing and transforming the trailer industry that will ensure
our success. “There’s a big difference between measured confidence and blind optimism,” Rey says. “I don’t believe in ‘hope and a prayer,’ and I bet you don’t either. We are bringing all of our legacy strengths—leading brands, strong manufacturing capability and the best distribution network—and combining that with revitalized management, cross-industry best practices and substantial investment to create a world-class company. Todays ATW knows where it’s headed, and I’m very happy you are along for the ride.”
