What special about Chennai??

Architecture and Film-making cross paths often as they share similar attributes in each other’s creative realms. Envisioning and capturing scenes through the lens involve skills that architects relate to. Films also serve as references for architects on how to visualize, while architecture provides the right locations to shoot in.

The proposal for the South Indian Artiste’s Association (SIAA) is the first of its kind artistes’ recreation center to be built in the city of Chennai. The design culminates the efforts of Tamil Film artistes to uphold the rich history and culture of Tamil Cinema and will stand as a milestone in SIAA’s career.

Kolam: Kolam a cultural act symbolizing idea of threshold. An act that draws thin line between the inside to outside. Kolam an understanding of geometry, an exercise/ act that of pride to draw fluently, which connects body and mind.

Kolam, a humble act to touch ground, feed ants (or insect).

Rice flour is pinched between the thumb and finger and rubbed together while moving the hand continuously to create good designs .Kolam’s also helps to improve mental discipline and concentration, providing an opportunity for solving our day to day problems to be faced in our life.

Butter Ball Mammallapuram’s rockcut temples and relief sculptures of the Pallava dynasty sets the Historical and Architectural Aura.

In Hindu mythology the “Butter Ball” is a giant balancing rock perched on a smooth slope, seemingly defying all laws of physics. The rock’s awkward position making it an interesting backdrop.

Myth as Architecture

‘Architecture’, like kolam is also an act of creating a threshold, having a strong connect to inside/outside. It is an act of drawing which is later transformed on to larger ground surface.

Relationship between It is also a symbol of culture. Unlike kolam, Architecture further Architecture and Kolam: transforms three dimensionally, forming spaces that houses various activities/performances.

Mr.Pathmaraj was one of the top students in cad logic course � Digital Fabrication - Building Pavillion during the winter semester 2017 - 2018 and Advance BIM with Solibri and Virtual Restoration during summer semester 2018. He was one of the Top 5% in all classes.

Mr.Pathmaraj has shown a strong Interest in using the computation tool and digital fabrication techniques. Together with his team, they have designed an innovative pavillion and its fabrication process using the digital fabrication tools such as CNC milling machines and helping his colleague to complete the entire project together on time.

In Advance BIM and Solibri class, he has shown more passion in learning to develop double curvature surface with help of revit familes and integrating Rhino objects to Revit and sucessfully completed his model with minimum errors checking with Solibri Model checker.

As a student in DIA he have shown high design, research and communication skills and he has been active in organizing PLUM nights to help the student intergrate into the school and get to know the culture of each other, He has been a part of developing college website for DIA department. His Final Thesis with BMW groups was really one of the best studio projects and he was awarded for best presenter. I am sure if he invest his energy in the right direction, he can come up in flying colours. He is self motivated, hard working and good team player, so he will be a great asset to your team aswell. I highly recommend him for Architecture firms for the position of Associate Architect.
