12TH DAY

Steady of an emotion

Look at the moon! How strange the moon seems! She is like a woman rising from a tomb. She is like a dead woman. You would fancy she was looking for dead things. - Oscar Wilde, Salomé

Inspired by Bernini’s sculpture “The Ecstasy of St Teresa”, the collection represent destructive proportions of an emotion with print, texture and silhouette. Black and white looks that represent the rebirth and death, also the silver looks representing armour/ protection. The accents of the collection is musculature print that represent burned muscles/sole. This collection is all about the cycle of reveling, growth, ecstatic trace, destruction and closure of the emotion.

“The mystery of love is greater than the mystery of death.” Oscar Wilde, Salome

The earth took one look at the planet Thea in a crowd, and fell in a passionate love with her. This fusion almost left the earth in the dust. But the crystal of that love was the birth of the moon.

One of the greatest and sublime emotion. Sublime like the Angels in heaven

Abstract like the universe

Painful like hell (9th circle in hell)

This collection is about a state of mind in which one experiences different types of love and the internal struggle with themselves.

9 outfits like the range of angels in heaven, every look speaks about the different emotions during the states of love.

The collection is made of textiles with abstract print that represents the universe and the infinite love. You’ll see organic forms and textures and completely hand made dresses with the technique macrame. The accessories are metallic and hint the suffocation and resistance with the glare of the moon (hope).

11 - the two digits standing side by side like silhouettes give the impression of belonging together. But it’s not how they feel about each other and about themselves. Separate them and you will see a new beginning, new world, new emotion… Day one.

THE CEREBRUM

10TH DAY

THE CEREBRUM IS THE UPPERMOST PART OF THE BRAIN. IT CONTAINS TWO HEMISPHERES SPLIT BY A CENTRAL FISSURE. THE CEREBRUM ITSELF CONTAINS THE MAJOR LOBES OF THE BRAIN AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR RECEIVING AND GIVING MEANING TO INFORMATION FROM THE SENSE ORGANS, AS WELL AS CONTROLLING THE BODY.” THIS DEFINITION IS METAPHORICALLY REPRESENTED IN THE COLLECTION THROUGH CUT, TEXTURE AND COLOR.

THIS TIME I WANT IT TO GET EVEN MORE DEEP IN TO THE HUMAN BODY AND EMOTIONS. BLOOD AND SKIN CELLS ARE DISPLAYED THROUGH TEXTURED TEXTILES AND HANDKNITTED AND EMBROIDERED DETAILS. SOME OF THE CUTS, IN ADDITION TO BEING INSPIRED BY THE SHAPE OF THE BRAIN, ALSO REFLECT ORGANIC LINES COMING FROM PARTS OF THE HUMAN BODY SUCH AS THE STRUCTURE OF THE BONES, CHEST AND SPINE.

THE FABRICS ARE FROM NATURAL ORIGIN, SOME ARE RECYCLED, AND SOME ARE COMPLETELY HANDMADE AND HAND-KNITTED.

THE ACCENT OF THE COLLECTION IS THE ORANGE COLOR WHICH REPRESENTS OPTIMISM, IMPERSONALITY AND OVERSIZE CUTS REPRESENTING DIVERSITY AND GENDER EQUALITY.

THE NINTH CIRCLE

9TH DAY

„THE NINTH CIRCLE (DAY) IS A COLLECTION MADE OF A LOT OF EMOTION. IT IS A PART OF THE NARRATIVE I’VE BEEN RESEARCHING ABOUT AND WORKING ON, AND INCLUDES TWO MORE COLLECTIONS - THE DANCE OF THE SEVEN VEILS AND THE EIGHT VEIL”

THE INSPIRATION FOR THE COLLECTION COMES FROM OSCAR WILDE’S PLAY “SALOME”, THE BIBLICAL STORY ABOUT THE BEHEADING OF JOHN THE BAPTIST. SALOME DANCED IN RETURN FOR THE HEAD OF JOHN THE BAPTIST ON A ROUND SILVER PLATTER. THE FOCUS AND THE MAIN MESSAGE OF THE COLLECTION ARE THE DISTRUPED HUMAN VALUES. THIS IS ALSO THE BACKBONE OF THE SON OF SALOME CONCEPT:

“PURE EMOTIONS AND HUMANITY ARE BECOMING SCARCE AND THUS WE ARE FACING MORE GLOBAL ISSUES THAT CONCERN ALL OF US. I STRIVE TO DENUDE AND OUR INNER SIDE AND SYMBOLICALLY PORTRAY THE EMOTIONAL INSTABILITY, LOVE, PAIN, FEAR AND IMPERSONALITY WE ARE ALL EXPERIENCING, THROUGH FORMS, COLOURS AND CUTS.”

A GREAT PART OF THE COLLECTION INCLUDES HANDMADE EMBROIDERED AND KNITTED DETAILS, AND SOME OF THE FABRICS ARE MADE OF RECYCLED MATERIALS.

THE EIGHT VEIL

8TH DAY

This is not fashion, this is unfinished painting...this is an emotion... The eight veil, day, is a collection that represents human’s body interior and human imperfection. DANCE OF THE SEVEN VEILS

GRADUATE COLLECTION

The dance of the seven veils or the stripping of the human insides, the emotional world, the emotional instability, the pain, the love...depicted by the prism of fashion design, divided in three phases. Black impersonation- the inferiority of men, society, and the world is depicted through the black color, which at the same time symbolizes the lack of character and death. The veil is the symbol of disfiguring, not showing facial expression, the concealment of true emotion. The female silhouette is highlighted, because it simultaneously signi removing the impersonality which is shown through circular vents that symbolize the cycle of life and the contrast of the luster and coldness of the moon. Silver gloss and constancy show the repression of emotions, especially hidden emotions that are deep in man, hidden with silver armor that further suppresses them. The color silver is an illusion of calmness, balance, glamor, women's power because in fact behind all this, there is hidden another emotion. Through the prism of fashion design this is carried over rigid fabrics, corsets made of non-standard materials which create an illusion of metal. The prominent waist and female silhouette are synonymous to femininity, but at the same time tautness that passes through the gradual opening and display of true emotion. The emotion- an abstract, inner human movement depicted through the tones of red and burgundy color that summarize the interior of man, blood, and veins. The warm and cold tones these colors symbolize equal the warm and cold emotions. A blast of red and burgundy colors, exposure of emotion, stripping of the human soul. Through the prism of fashion design the very emotions themselves are shown by the contrast of rigid and
