DS, DM soft starters Soft starters enable the gentle start of alternating current asynchronous motors through a continuously variable control of the motor supply voltage during the start phase. The resulting torque increase ensures that the motor is adapted to the load characteristics of the machine and is accelerated smoothly. The soft starter DS7 is available in a communications-capable version for connection to the SmartWire-Darwin communication system.
