Once a major hub of maritime activity, it is now a lively and popular location for leisure and exercise.

The historic buildings and bridges, together with the waterfront and canal basin lined with boats, canoes and kayaks, provide diverse photographic opportunities, including urban landscape and architecture, street, ICM and multiple exposure.

A group of southwest photographers visited in April 2025 under the aegis of the Royal Photographic Society’s Landscape Group, led by Suzy Bray.

This is a small selection of the many images we found during our walk. 71 were submitted for this zine (as shown on the centre pages), from which a smaller selection was made (with some difficulty!).
