Cultural Activities In School

Schools are all about having new experiences, interacting with others, making friends, and learning. There’s a

lot more to a school than just studying. Don’t get me wrong, studying is necessary and every child should focus on it. But there are other activities apart from studying that the child needs to participate in as well.

You must have heard of the saying, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” Well, that is true to many extents. It is not just directed towards any particular child but towards what we teach the children. Children should be motivated to learn and to participate in any activity that they like or work on the hobbies that they

have.

There are many co-curricular and extracurricular activities that the students can be a part of. Indulging in such activities can help them learn new skills, work in teams, spend time productively, and broaden their perspectives.

Many fun activities can be organized by using the school resources itself. There is no need for the school

to bear any extra expenses. This would not only help the students to indulge in some activities other than academia but would also help the school faculty be a part of it.

Many activities and events can be organized in which students and teachers collectively participate. This would help strengthen the bond between them and also help to overcome any communication barrier

that might arise.

There are ideas for various activities that you can organize in the school boundaries itself. These activities

can be fun, indulging, knowledge imparting, creative, and interesting. You can come up with your ideas as well. Just to give you a boost, here are some of the ideas that you can consider;

● Charity Events. ● Dramatics. ● Sports Events. ● Competitions.

● Parades. ● Workshops. ● Exhibitions.

● Literature-based activities like Debates and Speeches. ● Local Festival Celebrations, etc.

The extent of these cultural activities in school depends on the school authorities itself. These activities can be organized for just the students of a particular school or can be open for other schools to

participate as well.

Similarly, inter-school competitions can be arranged as well. The subjects for these competitions can be related to extracurricular activities like music, drama, arts, drawing, painting, etc, or curricular based activities like solving mathematical problems, science quiz,

history debates, and many more.

Setting up this kind of environment in school can help to build a healthy competitive attitude

amongst students. This in turn can help them push their limits and excel in whatever they do. Some of the benefits of indulging in cultural activities are as mentioned below.
