Westhrook College 1 8 3 1 - 1 9 8 1 Sesquicentennial In 1 8 3 0 , the Kennebec Association of Universalists proposed the founding of a "classical school of seminary," now known as Westhrook College. The proposal was accepted and on March 4 , 1 8 3 1 , the charter was signed by Governor Daniel E. Smith. Now one hundred and fifty years later, W.C. is celebrating its sesquicentennial.
