A: According to a recent report by CCI (Corporate Catalyst India Pvt. Ltd.), the Electronics market in India is one of the largest in the world and is anticipated to reach US $400 billion in 2022 from US $6.9 billion in 2012. Additionally, the market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 24.4 percent during in the year 2020. The PC sales in India (desktop computers and notebooks) registered a negative growth of 10% over the last fiscal which might appear to be a challenge for the industry, however, it’s important to note that people who have smartphones or tablets want to move on to the next step even for their laptops or desktops which ensures the growth of PC Peripherals industry. The smartphone and tablet industry will do a big favour to laptop and desktop industry, and we will do fine in both segments. Q: How do you fulfilling the demand of all set of consumers who are looking for innovative and good looking products? A: At Logitech we design products keeping in mind the consumer needs that might be identified much later in time. According to us that is what defines true innovation. Q: How do you see the consumption of tablet accessories in India, especially for iPad? A: Globally, the market demand for tablet accessories is mainly driven by the iPad users. HP Retains Top Position in India PC Market HP

s per the recent IDC report, HP retained its top spot with market of 26.4% in the India PC market whereas Dell captured the second spot with a market share of 21.6%. The overall India PC shipment for Q2 2015 stood at 2.19 million units i.e. a quarter on quarter growth of 1.4% over Q1 2015 and year on year drop of 14.1% over Q2 2014. The overall consumer PC market recorded 1.15 million units, a quarter on quarter drop of 1.3% over Q1 2015. “While there are signs of optimism in the market and even as overall consumer sentiments are improving, discretionary spending levels is yet to witness a makeover”, comments Manish Yadav, Market Analyst, Client Devices, IDC India. As a result, inventories continue to build up and vendors are hoping for a seasonal turnaround in Q3 2015. The commercial PC segment recorded 1.04 million unit shipments in Q2 2015 i.e. a 4.5% quarter on quarter growth against Q1 2015. “Various announcements and initiatives made by the government on boosting economic growth had positive impact on the sentiments of the business community; however in order to sustain this buoyancy it is vital that implementation of reforms continues at a steady pace,” comments Kiran Kumar, Research Manager, Client Devices, IDC India.

ell announced the national winner of “Dell Champs – 2015” School Program, a 20 city student-outreach program woven around the theme, ‘Learning Meets Doing’. Dell Champs is a part of Dell’s student contact program which, riding on four years of success, has completed its 5th effective year. This year’s winning duo is Rahul Jayanti and his son Kaushik from Little Angel’s School, Vizag, who competed in the nationals to win the title of ‘Dell Champs 2015’. The Dell Champs program acknowledges that students are increasingly spending more time with their ‘technology companions’, and the process of education is evolving. This year’s Dell Champs program is in line with Dell’s latest ‘Back to School’ campaign which resonates the message that computing can transform the process of learning with intuitive technology and contribute to the all-round development of a child. The “Dell Champs – 2015” program features a unique platform for parents to participate with their child and be a partner in their success. The competition was conducted in city schools across 400 schools in 20 Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in the country in three phases; the first being the ‘School level’ round, from which 2 teams were chosen to represent their school in the City Finals. While School Level winners were decided, an Interactive workshop was held, as part of Dell’s School Contact Program, to educate children and parents on how PCs can enhance learning and on Internet safety.
