Thank you, Father God for all of the blessings you bestow on us. Thank You Jesus for giving your life as a sacrifice for us. Thank you for taking on our sins so that we may reign with you forever just by repenting and inviting you into our hearts. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for dwelling in us after we become children of God through repentance and faith. I find comfort in the many Hebrew names that have been proclaimed by God Himself. He has many names (that reveal different aspects of His nature) but one Divine Essence..

For example, “El Shaddai” emphasizes God’s almighty power, while “Yahweh” (YHWH) represents His eternal selfexistence. “Elohim” is the Mighty Creator. The Everlasting God is “El Olam” One of my favorites is “Adonai” My Lord because I call on Him all the time. I love all of these names but we must remember that Jesus is the name above all names and look to Him for our salvation. Watch the signs of our times. The end is near.

Excuses often wear the disguise of good intentions. “I’ll do it when the timing’s right…” or “I’m just not ready.” But deep down, these words may really be the result of fear, doubt, or comfort. They delay what God is urging us to embrace. God’s calling isn’t about perfection or convenience—it’s about availability. He doesn’t expect flawless execution. He wants hearts that say yes, even when the path feels uncertain.
Recently, my sister and her husband moved into a new home — about 61 miles from where I live. On the day they were moving, several of my relatives stepped in to help clean-up the new house. I called my sister to see what she needed me to do. She asked if I could clean the windows because the glue from the window labels were still on the glass.
I wanted to contribute, but excuses crept in fast: “I had planned to clean my own windows today and “That’s just too far a drive.” Suddenly, I heard God speak clearly in my spirit: “Don’t use that as an excuse.” Those simple words pierced through every reason I’d rehearsed. And it revealed something deeper—excuses weren’t just about my schedule or time. They were challenging my willingness to serve. But obedience called me to go.
In Ruth Chapter 1, we meet a woman wrestling with grief and transition. Her husband is gone. Her future uncertain. Naomi, her mother-in-law, urges her to go back to Moab—to what’s familiar, what’s safe. But Ruth chooses the unfamiliar path. She makes a bold declaration as she spoked to Naomi:
“Wherever you go, I will go… your God will be my God.”
(Ruth 1:16 NLT)
She had every reason to turn back. Loss. Poverty. The unknown. Yet she refused to let grief write her future. Ruth stepped forward in faith, and her obedience set her on a path to redemption. Ruth aligned herself with God’s plan—and ultimately became part of the lineage of Jesus Christ.
Like Ruth, we’re called not to perfection, but bold obedience. Excuses feel safe. Purpose feels risky. Inconvenience is often the cost of obedience—but breakthrough is always the reward.
What if that excuse you’ve been carrying is actually blocking a divine appointment? God isn’t waiting for your calendar to clear or circumstances to align. He’s looking for the heart that says, “I don’t know what’s next, but I’m willing to go.”

My sister, Connie, recently passed away after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. It was a sudden and unexpected loss for our family. Connie was a simple person who led a very quiet life. She did not compare herself to others, she created a life she loved. She had a special love for children and they loved her. She never wanted any attention for herself, but she encouraged me to write my first book and was my biggest promoter.
Our youngest brother, Ralph, was on vacation in Branson, Missouri when I called him with the news of her death. The next morning, he took his family to the Butterfly Palace
where there were thousands of free flying butterflies. Ralph’s daughter, Adalyn, was sitting watching the butterflies when one landed on her shoe and would not leave. As she
sat there watching it, she decided to name the butterfly. She named it Connie.
After I dried the tears that I had cried from hearing such a sweet thing she did in honor of her aunt, I thought about how, like my sister, butterflies are quiet and peaceful and bring beauty into our world. While they don’t sing the way birds do, their presence brings a certain peacefulness to our surroundings. That is how we felt when we would visit her at her home. Even in her
death, my sister was reminding me through a butterfly to find happiness in simple things. The one thing she taught me just by the way she lived her life was to appreciate the present and not to live by someone else’s values. Once you start living by your values, life shifts in the most beautiful of ways. The old beliefs of lack, limitation, and people-pleasing no longer apply. You start to realize what’s important to you. You see that if you want to fly you must give up the things that were weighing you down.
So even if you can’t see your beauty and value right now, it doesn’t mean it’s not there. You are just in the process of becoming. And sometimes that takes time. Just like a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly, we go through changes in our lives that help us grow and become the best version of ourselves.
Embrace the journey.
