2017 Football Booster Board of Directors Welcome Rattler Nation!

Erica Marmolejo - 1st Vice President The 2017 SMHS Football Booster Club Board members welcome you to the 2017 Rattler Football season and the beginning of the centennial year celebration of San Marcos High School. We welcome our parents, alumni, business owners and members of the community that have come out to show their support. The 2017 football season has arrived, our boys and coaches have continued to work hard through the offseason and summer to ensure that they are “Rattler Ready” for our second season in Texas 6A football! We are excited to be playing our fourth season in our San Marcos Toyota Rattler Stadium! We would like to thank our Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Mark Soto and his staff for all their hard work and dedication to building a football program that instills the importance of qualities such as Character, Integrity, Resiliency, Honor, and Love. Coach Soto’s philosophy of “BUILDING CHARACTER FIRST” while producing EXCEPTIONAL YOUNG MEN all while creating a BROTHERHOOD that lasts a lifetime should make San Marcos proud. During the 2016 Rattler Football season, Coach Mark Soto implemented a new program for our Rattler Football Family called “Be a Pro,” his philosophy that it takes a village to raise a team has given birth to the Pro-Parent Breakfasts and Pro-Parent Volunteers. Rattler Football parents hosted three breakfasts during the 2016 season to support our student-athletes, and it recognizes Pro-Parent volunteers. The 2017 Rattler Football Parents will carry on this new tradition of “Being a Pro.” The objectives of “Being a Pro” is to: 1. Develop deeper meaningful relationships with your student-athletes, the coaches, and our team 2. Boost Morale of our student-athletes.
3. Develop conversation skills for parents and kids. 4. Encourage parental involvement in the booster club by volunteering and supporting the student athletes and the athletic program. This season’s motto is “STRIKE AS ONE.” This season our boys will play in unison with the common goal of post season play and ultimately reaching the state championship. Together, coaches, players, and rattler backers will come together as the RATTLER NATION and “STRIKE AS ONE!” This is the third year the Football Booster Club is managing concessions at Rattler Stadium. We are truly blessed to have Rudy Espinoza as our Concession Stand Manager. The football boosters have been working throughout the summer to get ready for the season. Band, Cheer, and Diamond Line will be involved in the running of concessions like last year. The revenue earned will enhance the sport or activity their children are involved in. We ask you to come out Friday nights and visit our concessions, where all proceeds stay in San Marcos. We offer special thanks to every organization at SMHS that have helped make the 2017 football season a success. This includes the Athletic Trainers, Student Council, JROTC program, Cheerleaders, Diamond Line, Rattler Band, SMHS Principal Dr. Bobbie Turnbo, all teachers, SMCISD Superintendent Michael Cardona, and Athletic Secretary Nan Arredondo. Also, thank you to Justin Pearson owner of SAN MARCOS BBQ for assisting with the Kick-Off BBQ, Don Moore with the SAN MARCOS DAILY RECORD for their hard work and commitment to this program. We would like to thank Electro Zuniga with ELECTRO’S POWER MIX and DJ Matthew Contreras for providing us with their DJ services for our tailgates and other events. Thank you to Tammy

Thanks to all the businesses that donated to our breakfasts and to those who donated monetary donations to make these breakfasts possible and a great success! Also, would like to thank all our awesome Pro-Parent Volunteers who helped and supported our booster club throughout the football season and year, we couldn’t do it without all of your help!
