The Grands

1 What is your grandparent name and does it have a special meaning?

Mi Mi (check out Mimi’s Song and video by Badanamu; “Mimi is love!” I sing it to my great-grandbabies.

2 Number of grandchildren and age range?

Three grandchildren (25-29); three great-grandchildren (22 months – 10 years) and one on the way!

3 Favorite activity with them?

Coloring, drawing, painting pictures; singing and dancing; playing ball outdoors; and having picnics at the pool.

4 Advice to other/new grandparents?

Be kind, be patient, participate in activities with them, take them to church (each of them should have their own Bible), be consistent on rules and respect. Also, LISTEN to them. Praise and reward where it is due, but also discipline when it is due (talk, guide, and hear them out also).

5 What’s your fondest memory of your grandparents?

Did not have the privilege of grandparents. That is why I’m the Mi Mi that I am—always do my best to be there for grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They are a beautiful gift from God, and they need special love and attention— no matter what age they are.
