Critical Race Theory
is Terrible for Dealing with Racism
James Lindsay offers eight reasons that Critical Race Theory (CRT) is terrible…for dealing with racism and for American relationships. His article presents some overarching statements, i.e. bullet-point summaries. They, at the least, reveal that CRT’s meaning of racism is not what mainstream America has traditionally viewed as racist, and that CRT is confusing and divisive.
1. CRT believes racism is present in every aspect of life, every relationship, and every interaction…therefore it has its advocates look for it everywhere.
2. CRT relies on interest convergence (white people only give black people opportunities and freedoms when it is also in their own interests), thus CTR doesn’t trust any attempt to make racism better.
3. CRT is against free societies and wants to dismantle them and replace them with something its advocates control.
4. CRT only treats race issues as “socially constructed groups,” so there are no individuals in Critical Race Theory.
5. CRT believes that science, reason, and evidence are a “White” way of knowing, and that storytelling and lived experience are a “Black” alternative, which hurts everyone, especially black people.
6. CRT rejects all potential alternatives, like colorblindness, as forms of racism.
7. CRT acts like anyone who disagrees with it must do so for racist and white supremacist reasons, even if those people are black.
8. CRT cannot be satisfied.
After reading each of these eight points of the Critical Race Theory, what do you Mr/Mrs Average American see that you could in any way espouse, or believe in? Then look at the ideas and see how they are generally presented. Do you believe you could identify with/hold to/ support a single one of them?
A reading shows us how far away from normalcy of thought and reasoning the concepts are. Who believes that racism, their definition of it, is in every aspect of life, in every relationship, and in every interaction? And then consider that those who advocate their idea of racism and it being all-consuming believe that it should be looked for EVERYWHERE! Mindboggling!! And it has been carried out. We’ve seen it pointed out in a variety of areas: Dr. Seuss’ writings, cartoons like Elmer Fudd and even classical works like Gone with the Wind have been labeled racist. Now they are out for Cracker Barrell, opposing Southern food (and lifestyle) by saying, “When you walk in, you get a whiff of Jim Crow and biscuits.”
And what about “interest convergence” as far as CRT sees it? Critical Race Theory tells us that Whites give Blacks opportunities and freedoms when it is also in their own interests, according to James Lindsay, author, mathematician, and political commentator. CRT is saying that Whites only do things for themselves. How sad that a whole race of people is labeled as totally insensitive, self-seeking, uncaring. It doesn’t stand up. All people, Whites included, are not totally motivated by “what’s in it for me?” Is that a mentality you believe totally permeates our America?
CRT is not a liberal idea. It is, in fact, critical of liberal societies, against the idea of freedom to its core. CRT sees a free society as a way to structure and maintain inequalities…especially by telling minorities not to want to do radical identity politics.
This dogma, this CRT, only treats race issues as “socially constructed groups,” so there are no individuals in CRT. Also, it

doesn’t even believe individuals meaningfully exist at all! Every person has to be understood in terms of the social groups they are said to inhabit, and these are determined by their identity, including race. And they believe that races are categories that society invents. People are not seen as equal before the law and meant to be judged upon the contents of their character and merits of their work.
CRT believes science, reason, and evidence are a “white” way of knowing, and that storytelling and lived experience are a “black” alternative. CRT proposes that the power and politics of cultural groups make their way intrinsically into everything that culture produces. So, science is just politics by other means. And, of course modern science was predominantly produced by white, Western men, so CRT believes whites dominate and thus science isn’t really fitting for black people. Obviously, a horrible sentiment. There is no objectivity in their beliefs.
CRT is against the fact that race becomes less socially relevant, and believes racism is therefore diminished by not focusing on race all the time. It sees the idea of colorblindness as one of the most racist things possible because they believe it hides the real racism from view. They see colorblindness as problematic.
And Critical Race Theory acts like anyone who disagrees with the ideology must do so for racist and white supremacist reasons, even if those people are black. They judge individual people based on how well they support CRT, even if they are black. Creator of the 1619 Project, Nikole Hannah-Jones, tweeted and then deleted. “There is ‘Racially blac’ on the one hand, and Politically black on the other.” CRT is only interested in the identity politics associated with being Politically Black, and anyone who disagrees with CRT, even if racially black, does not qualify. And they phrase this by saying, “They are “not really Black.”
Last of all, CRT cannot be satisfied. It can’t be disagreed with. It rejects all alternatives. It is like a black hole. No matter how much you give to it, it cannot be filled and only gets stronger—and it will tear apart anything that gets too close to it. If your workplace takes up CRT, eventually activists will start to make demands and will threaten to make trouble if they do not get their way. (And they usually do not ask). Giving in to them does not satisfy them. (Because, remember that CRT cannot be satisfied). You should know that before you do anything, it will be done wrong because of your racism…you did it out of “interest convergence,” to make yourself look good because of your racism. You didn’t do it sooner, you didn’t do it faster, you didn’t do it better because of your racism. No matter what you do, the result must contain racism, and the CRT activist’s job is to find it and hold you to account. If you do give into their demands, they will then continue to come and to escalate matters. Countless examples of this have been seen across the corporate world recently. And if you step down from your job and give it to activists, even that won’t satisfy them. And if any venture fails as a result of all this disruption, racism was the cause of that failure, too.
Did You Know
President Donald J. Trump, while in office, launched an attack against Critical Race Theory om two related fronts:
1. His Constitution Day announcement of a 1776 Commission to encounter the leftist indoctrination of school children. 2. His instruction to the Office of Management and Budget to ban so-called “anti-racism trainings” from the federal workforce. On September 22, Trump extended the ban to contractors doing business with the federal government.

Billy Graham and the Limo
Recently, the world famous evangelist, Billy Graham, disembarked from an airplane, and walked toward his ride to the hotel. The limousine driver seemed friendly enough, so Billy made an unusual request.
“I’ve always wanted to drive a limousine,” he said. “I’m in my 90s now, but I’m still a pretty good driver. Would you please let me drive the limousine back to my hotel?”
The driver paused thoughtfully for a moment, and then replied: “I guess it wouldn’t hurt anything. There’s not much traffic on the road since it’s so late at night.”
Thrilled, Billy took his place in the driver’s seat while the chauffeur made himself comfortable in the back seat.
The ride was going smoothly enough, until Billy heard a siren and saw flashing lights in his rear view mirror. He slowed to a stop.
“Is there a problem, officer?” he said to the young looking cop who sauntered up to his car window.
“Well, yes,” said the rookie officer. “Let me see your license and registration, please. Were you aware that you were going 70 in a 55 mph zone?”
“No, sir, I wasn’t aware of that”, responded Billy Graham.
When the cop saw the registration and license, he excused himself and made a quick call to his superior.
“Look”, he said. “I know we’re supposed to uphold the law and all, but can’t we make exceptions sometimes for REALLY important people?”
“Do you have someone like that?” the supervisor asked.
“Well, yes.” the cop responded.
“Is he as important as the governor?” the supervisor questioned.
“Oh, he’s more important than the governor.”
“Is he a Congressman then?”
“No, he’s more important than a congressman.”
“You don’t mean to tell me he’s the president??”
“No,” the cop said. “He’s even more important than the president!”
“Whatever can you mean?” said the supervisor.
“Well,” said the cop, “I think he might be Jesus ‘cause Billy Graham is the chauffeur!”
