Darkness pierced by a ray of sunshine, reflection and sound unmistakable of water, time. A puzzle revealer and at the same time an artist.
The latter, together with water, gave shape to ours project going to erode a block of plant square positioned in the strongest and most part characteristic of the place, on the boundary between land and water.
It is precisely on the threshold that erosion by capillarity takes place, going to give life to an external space, but at the same internal time, where we find the long walkway the shore of the lake and our outdoor exhibition.
Since it is an unmarked threshold, not clear, given that lake level varies over time, over the course of seasons, excavation is not only found in the outdoor display but also on the upper floor forming three spaces: the bar, the temporary room and the permanent room.
The spaces created within the block are invisible from the outside, but only those who dare to enter can enjoy it the view of the sun and moon from openings where none exist horizontal

In the remaining part of the block, it is not water that excavates but rather the sun’s rays, going to form patios that bring natural light and air inside the spaces, in this case to the offices and lecture hall.
In the entrance hall, however, the space is lit by a skylight, indicating access to the rooms exhibition rooms, and by a cutout that allows the diffusion of light throughout the space.
The spaces created within the block are invisible from the outside, but only those who dare to enter can enjoy the view of the sun and moon from openings where there is no horizon

Economic, productive and social flexibility
The construction system of porches and the zoning around the initial heat production center allow the possibility of vertical growth and the configuration of flexible spaces to the needs of the family, either by increasing the number of floors, or by rethinking the functions of the spaces enabled for the mixed use of the dwelling.
Materiality and self-construction
Through the reinterpretation of the vernacular of the research phase of the project, we propose a typology that reduces the environmental impact by proposing flexible construction techniques, self-construction, and easy availability and transportation.
The materials associated with traditional construction techniques allow the involvement of the community’s identity within the architectural proposal, which, through technological appropriation, seeks to contribute to the social and economic sustainability of the project.
We are proposing the use of Compressed Earth Block (CEB) as an envelope material, besides being a construction technique known by the inhabitants of the area, its thermal inertia index helps us to substantially improve the hygrothermal characteristics of the house.

In the climate of the Vetas sub-paramo, there are no moments of thermal comfort at any time of the day throughout the year, even at the hottest time of the day temperatures are very low. According to the Givoni diagram, the climatic behavior of Vetas tends to the use of strategies that:
-Maximize passive and active solar energy inputs.
-Maximize internal temperature gains through conventional heating.

To eliminate all forms of discrimination To promote gender equality and Female empowerment in Africa
Formally, the concept of parity translates into symmetry and is developed from two main volumes where the administrative, educational, and dialogue áreas are located.
The educational areas meet each other trough the courtyard, allowing the development of activities in an environment with interior visuals and open spaces that ecourage climatic wellbeing within the building
21 cultural educational residential hospitality
.The dialogue and administration areas are located opposite each other, one at each end of the building, but with a direct relationship to the central courtyard, allowing direct communication with the rest of the building. Although the flexible design of the spaces responds to an eventual need for a shelter in case of emergencies, we propose a refuge space available for those who need to make use of it, whether they are guest trainers or villagers.
The main circulation of the project responds to the idea of a central meeting point, and it takes place through the perimeter of the courtyard.
Responding to the role of water collector of the African woman. specifically the woman of the Baghere village, we propose a system formed by the hipped roof that together with a network of gutters with solid waste filters collect rainwater in a subway well so that it is the woman who manages and disposes of this benefit. thus reducing the time and distances in the execution of this activity.

El Carmen Teresiano Cúcuta has more than 50 years of history in the city; initially it was an institution for girls and young women, but over the last 10 years it has been incorporating boys into the program. The community contacted us to rethink the spaces for a mixed children’s atmosphere and to respond to the new pedagogical strategies they have implemented
The project’s mission was to support and enhance the infrastructure for the new generations of boys and girls, as well as to respond to the needs of the school’s new educational program.
Through the proposal we sought to foster productivity, creativity and a relationship with nature. We brought the flexibility of traditional spaces to the care of children, adding places for social interaction and areas for cultivation and interaction with nature.
From the overall design we highlight:
The colour theory is a compositional game based on the fibonacci sequence. Principle used for the design of floors, murals and ventilated walls. Modular and flexibel furniture to increase the percentage of storage, as well as the proximity to the children, in order to teach them about independence, order and sense of belonging for the classroom and its toys/playful work tools. Exaltation of the materiality of the construction system, leaving the natural colour of concrete and the bricks in view.

Casa Dos Patios
Heritage Intervention
Guane-Barichara, Colombia
KUTIMO Architecture Team
Located in the centre of Guane, a town declared a heritage site in Colombia.
Casa dos patios operated at the back of the plot with an open and empty area to the front. The owner wanted to make an extension to the house that would function independently for her eldest son and family.
The project retains its façade in Tapia pisada (rammed earth) and uses the ancestral construction techniques of wooden structure, compressed earth block and roof in clay tile and caña brava. We sought to design a programme that is resolved around two courtyards (patios) which give air and life to the interior spaces.
We wanted every aspect of the project to speak of the place so we wanted to respect the nature of the finishings as much as possible.

Hostal Guane
Heritage Intervention Guane, Colombia
KUTIMO Architecture Team
The village of Guane, in Santander, Colombia, is one of the villages within the extensive territory of the Chicamocha Canyon, criss-crossed by a network of ancestral roads that connect the villages to each other.
These roads were used by the ancient indigenous communities that inhabited the area up to the present day. This now protected UNESCO heritage area is where Hostal Guane takes place, just a few steps away from the central park of the village.
The building is based on a Guane dwelling and reflects the general thinking about space, material, size and experience. Using ancestral building techniques and contemporary design concepts we sought to create a project that breathes vegetation and looks towards the mountains.
