MY KIWIN’S JOURNEY

My KIWIN’S journey actually started in Key Club. I joined my school’s Key Club during my Freshman year. I was able to hold positions on the club and divisional level during my first year. This first year in the Kiwanis Family helped me to find my spark for service. The following school year, I was introduced to KIWIN’S by my friend and teammate. He introduced me to this club, that little did I know would grow to become such a big part of my life.

Starting my Junior year, I held positions on the club and divisional level while also serving on several district committees. I had grown to a level of service that I never though possible. Then, at the end of the year, I had the opportunity to run for District Board. This was a giant leap that I had never expected myself to take. However that same friend who introduced me to KIWIN’S gave me the confidence to run for LTG. I would go on to win, and begin one of the most fun years of my entire life. Now, I even work as one of Key Club International’s UNICEF Champions. If you would have told me four years ago about all I have accomplished, I wouldn’t believe you. If I could give you one thing from my KIWIN’S journey, it would be to never hold yourself back because of your own insecurities.

WHAT

IS CNH KIWIN’S? CNH KIWIN’S?

In California-Nevada-Hawaii KIWIN’S , or CNH KIWIN’S, is is the 32nd District of Key Club International. With over 44 clubs with approximately 2,000 members, we promote good citizenship through service. CNH

KIWIN'S performs service deeds with fellow members to improve their schools and communities. Local service gives KIWIN'S members the satisfaction of seeing the results of their efforts. In most cases, CNH

KIWIN'S clubs are based on a high school campus under the guidance of their Faculty Advisor.

OUR HISTORY HISTORY

1973-1974 - Sid Smith, a CNH Kiwanis Governor, created Keyettes for his daughters. It was an all female service group because Key Club was all male. By the mid 1970's both clubs had gone co-ed. Keyettes was renamed to Keywanettes. Only the CNH Keywanettes remained active.

In 1995, CNH Keywanettes was renamed to CNH KIWIN’S. KIWIN’S means, “people, men and women, working together in service.”

In 2001, CNH KIWIN’S officially joined Key Club International as the 32nd District. Today, we are a very active District and run alongside our Key Club counterparts.

Structure

KIWIN’S pyramid, with our largest meant to show would not be on our

is structured like an upside-down with members on top. Members are largest and most important layer. This is show that without members, KIWIN’S be able to have such a large impact our schools and communities.

DISTRICT BOARD BOARD

The CNH KIWIN’S District Board helps to keep our club running. They plan district events, monitor club health, and represent our district. It is made up of the Executive Board, Lieutenant Governors (LTGs), and Appointed Board. Executive Board oversees club officers. They are the people who look over officer report forms. LTGs are each in charge of their own division. They make sure their clubs receive the support they need. Finally, the appointed board each has their own unique specialty and committee.
